Overview

Manuel Antonio Villa Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms, 2 Full Bathrooms, Sleeps 7

This beautiful, traditional 3 bedroom villa is located within a gated, walled, private development right in the heart of the lovely village of Manuel Antonio. Less than 5 minutes to our white sandy beach and renowned Manuel Antonio National Park, this superb villa offers amazing views of the Pacific Ocean, the Manuel Antonio mountain range, and wonderfully large jungle gardens.

Set in one and a half acres of flora and fauna, you are guaranteed daily visits from Monkeys, Birds, Iguanas, Butterflies, Sloths and other furry and not so furry critters! The villa is centrally located half way between the town of Puerto Quepos and the beaches of Manuel Antonio. It is also within walking distance of many of the area's finest dining and shopping locations.

Casa Linda also has access to an enormous private pool and large pool area (shared with one other villa within the development). Spend your days at the beach, and then cool off at the pool before watching the sunset over drinks on your front porch.

The villa is ideal for nature lovers and family vacations, with lots of space to explore in the jungle. Car rental is not necessary as you are less than 2 minutes from the bus stop where you can catch the bus to the beach (60 cents each way) or if you’d rather hop in a taxi, there is a taxi rank (of sorts!) just round the corner ($4-$8 any journey).

The home has both a full kitchen and a galley in the Master. The kitchen has a microwave oven, blender, coffee maker, toaster, full gas stove with oven, all utensils, pots, pans & plates etc. Casa Linda is also fully air-conditioned, which is unusual for a villa of this style.

The dining area features a lovely rattan dining room set that seats six, in the living room there is a couch and two chairs, 32' Flat Screen TV with a DVD Player (movies, for kids too). There is also a stereo with Cd/Radio I Pod Port.

The Master Suite has it's own external entrance as well being connected to main villa, and a private bathroom.

Costa Rica's finest National Park and white sandy beaches are only five minutes away. Quepos offers some of the best sport fishing in the world. Exciting horseback riding, canopy tours, white water rafting, guided tours on bikes, ATVs, parasailing, diving, snorkeling, and some of the prettiest beaches in the world.

About Amy Irving, Property Manager

I originally came to Costa Rica on a sabbatical from a busy Directorship in London, England. The idea being to spend 3 months learning Spanish. Over 6 years later and I'm still here so be warned - it's hard to leave paradise. Now I run a small boutique vacation planning company with lots of help from our wonderful team, Hazel, María Fernanda and Mariela.

Amy Irving, Property Manager purchased this villa in 1990

Why Amy Irving, Property Manager chose Manuel Antonio

This villa is in a fabulously central location. Less than three minutes to grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, take out, taxis, bus stops, and a quick 5 minutes to the wonderful white sandy beaches and Manuel Antonio National Park

What makes this villa unique

Great location, close to everything, come through the gate and feel as if you have entered a private green estate.

Pool is outstanding and huge and offers a washroom changing room.

Great Views from either balcony.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Highlights were the tours that Itza arranged for us.

Manuel Antonio National Park

Mangroves at night!!

Sunset Sail

Zipline ( Canopy)

Butterfly Farm

Cafe Milagro was the best for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as the Canopy restaurant at Villas Lirio ( across the street!!)

The pool made our holiday!!

We enjoyed the dogs company when they decided to visit us.

Love the coffee.

The last night we had dinner at Victoria's Restaurant, it was superb and the music was great.

Thanks Pete

Great Place to Stay in Manuel Antonio!

  • 5 of 5

My family--two adults and two teen girls--stayed at Pete's Place for week in June. It was our favorite place of our three week trip. Though the house sits just off the main road, we did not find road noise to be an issue at all. It was easy walking distance to stores, restaurants, and the bus--just a block or two--unlike another place we stayed where "easy walking distance" meant a 20 to 30 minute walk on a steep winding dirt road. You definitely do not need a car here--we did fine with the bus and occasional taxi (taxi stand 1 block away). When you enter the gate it feels like you are in another world. The vegetation is lush and the two decks provide an ocean and mountain view and have hammocks and chairs. The house itself is a little older, but it is very spacious and comfortable, complete with washer/dryer and everything you need to cook. AC and wifi worked great. The absolute best thing about Pete's Place is the huge private pool. It's a short walk through the jungle down some stairs to a beautiful pool set back in the jungle. We saw more wildlife here than on our guided walk in the Curi Canchi Reserve in Monteverde. When getting out of the pool on our first day, I looked up and saw a sloth in the tree right by the pool. He stayed there for most of the week. One day a huge family of squirrel monkeys (about 20 including moms with babies) came passing through. Another day we were visited by white-faced monkeys and there are birds galore. You can even turn on the lights and swim at night. Pete is wonderful--available to answer questions and help out when needed, but gives you plenty of privacy. We loved our stay at Pete's Place and would highly recommend Pete's Place to others. It is certainly a gem in the Manuel Antonio area.

Our home away from home

  • 5 of 5

When we visit Quepos/Manuel Antonio, we always stay at Pete's Place! We like to "get local" when we visit new places and Pete's Place offers a relaxing alternative to a hotel (It was our second visit to Costa Rica in 3 years). We love the privacy (although Pete and his wonderful dogs live onsite, we never see him) and we love the pool! We never bother to rent a car because public transportation is available within short walking distance and all the great restaurants are within a mile or two of Pete's Place. Each day, we spend the morning at the beach and the afternoon at the pool. Around 5pm, we have drinks and decide where and when to eat dinner.....couldn't be more relaxing. Lastly, his friend Itza, will help arrange ANY activity you wish to try...zipline, massage (she is a professional therapist), boat trips, etc. During this recent trip, we became friends with 3 types of monkeys and a Sloth who called our tree "home", almost every day we were there. What a great place!

Family home for family wedding

  • 4 of 5

Pete's Place provided us a place to house part of our family for a destination wedding. This is a comfortable and affordable home centrally located in Manuel Antonio adjacent to the main road. We had good access to groceries, restaurants and taxis. The bus line is also on the main road for good, cheap local transportation.

The owner helped us set up our airport transfers and advised us on other local needs. He was available whenever we needed and there is a housekeeper and gardener working to keep everything in good shape.

We enjoyed the pool at the edge of the jungle and the views from the veranda. The wifi worked well with all our devices.

If you are concerned about security, rest assured. We called the place a fortress because it takes 3 keys to get from the gate into the house.

Spring Trip

  • 5 of 5

Pete's Place was an awesome place to stay for Spring Break. We are 2 adults and one teenager and it was perfect. Everyone was so nice and willing to help with whatever. Pete was around if we needed, but was not all over us. Itza took care of all our tours and transportation and did a great job. My wife says that she also gives a great massage on the beach! This is not a resort, but if you want to ride the bus, eat and hang out with the locals, I highly recommend it. The pool is really awesome. After a day full of adventures, come home and jump in a huge, private pool set in the jungle. That's what I'm talking about! Thanks Pete and Itza!

Great Stay at Pete's Place

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the extra room a house gives you over a hotel (we were 2 adults 2 children), access to a washer and dryer after a week in CR, the ability to walk to the grocery store, ATM, and various restaurants. We did not have a car and it was not a problem. Tours pick you up at the house and just 'Pete's Place' is all the info they need. Kitchen and furnishings were sufficient, coffee and a few other staples kindly provided in the fridge. Mountain view porch extremely pleasant all times of day. Walls not extending to ceiling not an issue for us at all. Made it seem very tropical. House is not luxurious. It is fairly basic but extremely comfortable for a family and very conveniently located. I'm not usually a big air conditioning fan but it was *most* appreciated in the CR heat. Pool was definately the best part. It is 3 ft.+ deep at the shallow end so if you have small children, it might be an issue. Wonderful for 7-8 yo kids/adults and super warm. Sloths, toucans, etc. visited the pool, making it extra special. Pete met us at the front gate when we arrived, showed us all we needed. Itza made all tour arrangements, which was fantastic. After morning tours, returned to house around 2:00 and had PB sandwiches by the pool and kids swam for hours. Kids were happy so we were happy. Very, very enjoyable.
