Susan Hinz purchased this apartment in 2011
I've found all the natural beauties and open mindedness of Europe in Asheville! From the moderate climate, waterfalls and abundent nature to the cosmopolitan restaurants, ecclectic and down to earth people, Asheville area has it all in one place.
Peace, serenity and a retreat into nature at Holly Haven. So many activities are nearby or just stay in and get lost in the sweeping vista views of the mountains for hours.
Thank you for sharing your clean, comfortable and beautiful home with us. The banana bread was delicious and the snow was a pleasant surprise! Hopefully, we will be able to come back soon. God Bless!
We had a wonderful time in the Asheville, NC area..our first trip there and really enjoyed our stay at Holly Haven. The apartment was easy to locate, super clean and the furniture in the living room and dining area was very comfortable. The kitchen was also very well appointed and we were able to cook a few meals in our apartment on several occasions. The property manager was very attentive and we enjoyed the fresh-baked banana bread upon our arrival after 10 hours of driving. We also really liked the Amish fireplace on those chilly mornings and evenings. The drive to downtown Asheville was never more than 18 minutes and we were very close to the Biltmore Estate for our afternoon tour which was amazing!
My only negative was the queen bed, which we found to be very soft and not very comfortable. Other than that one issue, we would gladly come back to visit and stay at Holly Haven.
Over the Thanksgiving holiday my girlfriend and I stayed at this property. It was located atop a small hill secluded from the main road and we found it warm, inviting and clean. The owner even left fresh baked banana bread! There were basic kitchen utensils (plates, cups, pots and silverware) as well as a microwave, coffee maker and toaster. We really enjoyed our stay there - the Amish fireplace was great to have for the early morning chill. It was only about 20 minutes from downtown Asheville and several minutes less to the Biltmore Estate; ten minutes from the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We would recommend this property to anyone who was looking to get away for a relaxing weekend in the mountains.
An excellent property for two. Quiet location just a short drive from all attractions. We initially had an issue with the temperature in the property, but once we raised this with the owner it was rectified straight away. The quality of the fixtures and fittings is excellent. The staff in the Visitor Centre are very helpful and you can leave your car there and walk into town. If you like Bluegrass try ISIS music hall.
This was a perfect get away. House is even nicer than the pictures posted. Very clean and comfortable. Owner was extremely helpful with booking, providing information about the area, and quickly helping us when we had some difficulty with the door (tip: don't turn the lock knob inside). temperatures in house were a bit chilly, just be sure to bring a sweatshirt. All in all, HIGHLY recommend Holly Haven! It is about 15 minutes outside of Asheville, very easy drive. Also highly recommend navitat zip lines which isn't too far away! Would love to come back. Great place and great rates!
After deciding on a last-minute trip to Asheville with my girlfriend, we had some trouble finding a place that wasn't already booked, a rundown Motel 6, or luxury $400+ lodging. Somehow, I managed to find Holly Haven and booked our stay immediately. Despite sending a request at 8pm on a weeknight, the property coordinator responded within 15 minutes, and by 9pm the place was ours.
The unit is a sealed-off basement underneath the owner's house (with front-door access), and it is beautiful. Wall-to-wall windows, a full kitchen and living room, and a touch of personal decor make this place feel homey from the moment you step in. While it is a solid 15 minute drive from the city, you'll be hard pressed to find so much space at such a modest rate.
Check-in and check-out simply meant you had to arrive after a certain time and leave before another. The owner's car was in the driveway, but I did not see or hear from anyone throughout our entire stay -- although the owner left fresh-baked banana bread for us when we checked in!
Additionally, after leaving, we forgot an article of clothing somewhere in the unit, and before we even realized it was gone, the property coordinator had it back in our hands, free of charge, even after we offered to pay the shipping costs.
The only downside of this place is that you certainly need a car to drive all the way out to it, so if you want something equally nice inside the city, look elsewhere (and prepare your wallet). Oh, and the contract only permits 2 people staying in the unit, so you can't stay here if you're visiting with family or friends.
