THIS PLACE IS A GEM

  • 5 of 5
My cousin and boyfriend and I came in for a wedding. We loved this place so much! Incredibly charming, relaxing, clean, classy yet comfortable. Very tall ceilings and a great front living room overlooking the main strip downtown. And great furniture and design. Loved the canopy bed. I kept talking it up to the rest of the wedding party . . . the few who did make it by just kept saying WOW. We'd stay here again for sure and I hope to get to next visit to Aiken. My first time in Aiken and this place made it all the more memorable.

WHAT A FANTASTIC PLACE TO STAY.

  • 5 of 5
We booked this the day before we arrived, not knowing what to expect. This appartment is lovely. There is everything you need. The place was spotless and central to every where in Aiken. The town is very safe and there is so much to see and do. We will be back to enjoy another vacation.

EXCELLENT ACCOMMODATIONS FOR A WEEKEND AT THE MASTERS!

  • 5 of 5
We rented this beautiful apartment with another couple for Masters 2011. Our rate was more than the rate quoted on VBRO, but very reasonable when compared with other hotel/rental options in the greater Augusta area for the week of Masters.

The apartment is just as beautiful in person as it appears in the pictures, and the Johnson’s are wonderful hosts. They were very easy to deal with and very flexible regarding checking into and out of the apartment.

This is a fantastic location for anyone who is going to the Masters. The commute to and from the course was a short 25-30 minutes. Aiken has a quaint and lively downtown, and is a perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of watching golf. There are any great restaurants just steps from the apartment (Malia’s is a local favorite that did not disappoint). There were many other places that we did not have time to visit.

Owner's Response: Masters week is always special and this year was truly no exception! We are so happy you enjoyed staying in Aiken at our Laurens Street Apartment and we hope you will come back often.

(As a side note to our future Masters guests--rates increase during the Masters Golf Tournament. We request that you call or email for pricing and availability. Thank you!)

MRS. O. L. WILLIS

What a delightful apartment and what wonderful hosts. The location was perfect, right in the middle of town. One could walk to great restaurants and interesting shops. The apartment was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Janice and Russell were very attentive to any of my needs and I merely had to mention a problem and it was immediately fixed. They were certainly hands-on hosts. I will be going back!

Car: not necessary

Aiken, 'a place for a splendid time to be had' was the town's reputation a century ago and still reigns true today! Historically, Aiken was a retreat for Charlestonians escaping malaria but also became a popular Winter Colony attracting people from the north especially during their harsh winter months.

Aiken became known as a sports haven as wealthy horse enthusiasts brought their animals for pleasure and training building grandiose cottages and stables that survive today. Aiken remains a great escape offering a rich heritage, beautiful tree lined streets, charm, hospitality and gracious living.
