There is no better place to spend a summer vacation than Coronado. It is a quaint small town with a rich history, Mediterranean climate, and one of the world’s most popular Pacific Ocean white sand beaches and short walk to the other side of the island and you will be on the San Diego Bay with a beautiful view of the San Diego skyline. This uniquely endearing village boasts innumerable picturesque parks, an 18-hole bayside public golf course, and a club house with restaurants adjacent to San Diego Bay. All this is coupled with the world famous iconic Hotel Del Coronado, one of the few remaining Victorian beach front hotels in California. There are unlimited opportunities for bicycling around the island to visit an array of restaurants, cafes, stores, and markets. There is also a local theater, a fabulous public library, and numerous churches of every denomination.

Activities are available for all ages. We enjoy plenty of tennis with 14 municipal tennis courts. There are boat rentals available at Coronado Yacht Club for sailing or kayaking on the bay, ocean surfing on the beach and paddle suffering on the bay, along with swimming at the beach, as well as, at the local newly constructed community pool. This is truly a pristine neighborhood, incredibly safe with our own Police and Fire Department, and peacefully quiet. In our home, you will be vacationing in a small town with all the benefits of a big city nearby including everything San Diego has to offer just across the bridge. These attractions include the world famous Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Balboa Park, USS Midway, museums and Sea World.

Our village home was recently remodeled in 2008; including all kitchen amenities and appliances, three bathrooms, electrical throughout, new hardwood floors and vaulted ceilings. It has 5 bedrooms with 2 king beds, 2 queen beds, a twin bed and a bunk bed. We have enough beds for 10 people. Our kitchen has all major appliances including a 6 burner and griddle top Jenn Air stove with two ovens, a side by side Jenn Air refrigerator, a Jenn Air microwave, and a Bosch dishwasher. We are located 3 blocks from the beach. Our room paint colors range from a palette of pastel coastal colors.

Ocean breezes abound but in case it gets warm, we have central air throughout the house along with a supplement from wall air central air conditioning units in the master bedroom and the family room. The Village of Coronado area is five miles in circumference; so it is easy to go anywhere, especially on a bike. We consequently will leave our 6 bikes with lights and baskets for use during your stay.

Keywords: Recently remodeled 2 story home in the quiet Country Club neighborhood. We are 3 blocks down the street from Sunset Park and North Coronado Dog Beach. From there you can easily stroll to the Hotel Del Coronado. You can always use one of our bikes and ride to the Ferry Landing on the bay side. You will be there in a few minutes. We are two retired Naval Officers with 4 young children and we would be happy to share our house with you.

This is the best place in the world to live. Great climate, small town feeling yet right across the bay from San Diego. One of the best beaches in the world! You will love to vacation at our house as you create wonderful memories for your family. Take a short stroll to the beach or you can use one of our bikes and ride around the beautiful island. We also have surfboards, boogie boards, beach chairs, coolers and beach umbrellas.

We had such an amazing experience renting this house for our stay in Coronado! It fit our family of 8 adults very comfortably with plenty of spaces to sleep and hangout. Amazing kitchen and great back yard! Just a short walk to the beach and an easy drive into downtown Coronado and San Diego. The owners were very accommodating and extremely responsive and pleasant. Highly recommended!!

It’s a gorgeous home in beautiful Island of Coronado.

We had a wonderful stay at Bayer’s home in Coronado. Rob and Virginia are great hosts and they make everything possible so that we have a very pleasant stay. We had everything needed. It is a perfect home away from home, very specious with a large kitchen. The neighborhood is peaceful, green and friendly. The home is in a great location to reach the beach or restaurants or go to into San Diego. One can take trips on the bike to all over the island. It is a fun place for all ages. Kids would love this environment and ask again and again to go there. It’s a great place for get to-gather, family reunions, business meetings, work-shops and retreats. We enjoyed so much and had an amazing time and would love to go back next Summer.

Fabulous Family Vacation!

I was responsible for finding the accommodations and arranging the visit for my family which consisted of 9 people, so of course I was nervous about my choice. Turns out I have great taste :) as the house was perfect for our needs! The three full bathrooms were perfect to accommodate each of the three families in the house and it was so spacious that we never felt crowded. Rob and Virginia have set their home up with pretty much anything you can imagine for a beach vacation and it was so convenient to be able to borrow their chairs, umbrella and boogie boards! Not to mention the bikes! We had such a great time riding the bikes as a family around Coronado. The location was a bit of a walk from the beach but it worked out great that the "dads" drove the beach gear to the beach and unloaded while the 'moms' walked with the kids! The house is beautiful and well equipped and was more than enough space for our family of 9! We just had a great time and can't express enough how appreciative we are that Rob and Virginia open up their home to visitors like ourselves! We just LOVE Coronado Island and are looking forward to returning as much as possible!

Best Vacation House - just like home!

We just got back from a week vacation at this amazing house on Coronado! We loved it! The best part was it felt like a home away from home and luxurious. The beach was a quick walk, the most delicious restaurants were a quick walk and it was pure heaven. The house was stalked with everything we needed and when traveling with toddlers and a dog it was wonderful. They have a great kitchen! It made cooking on vacation fun! I can't say enough how wonderful of a vacation place it was. We can't wait to schedule for next summer!

This is a lived in family home, except during the summer, so it has a lived-in feel. The owners are generous with amenities and details not normally expected in a short term rental. Loved the beach and biking "toys" in the garage. Quiet part of town so safe for kids biking. Super backyard for barbequing and outdoor eating.
