What a Great rental - Do not understand what the July renter was talking about
I am normally skeptical of a great review after a bad one, and I have to say I was nervous in renting this home when I read the not-so-good June/July review, but I must say that this place was wonderful.
We had a wonderful time at the rental home. This is the first time we have rented a house before, and it was better than we expected. It felt like we were renting a home, rather than a house. I’ve rented a condo/apartment before, but nothing like this.
When we walked in everything was neat and clean. The house is well decorated with great, simple, comfortable furniture. It felt like I was walking into a very warm and cozy home (With plenty of space to boot.) The 4 big flat screen TVs, with 2 in bedrooms was a nice treat. We saw the Summer Olympics in style.
My family and I stayed at the home. There were nine of us (Grandma, Grandpa, 3 Grandkids, and 4 adults). I must say that the basement and bunk beds were a godsend.
The basement is very spacious, and when the kids went down there, we did not think they were going to come back up. The basement, with two bunk beds, and a futon, had a big screen TV, with a bunch of videos and games to play. (PS2, DVD) there was even a table they used to draw pictures, and the foosball. There was so much room in the basement that my daughter and my niece decided to do a dance recital for the family. (The recital was wonderful - My wife won’t let me post it on YouTube :) )
The other bedrooms were also very nice. The beds were very comfortable (at least the one I slept in). It was one of the best night sleeps I have had in a while.
We did not realize how close we were to Camelback/Camelbeach, and it was fantastic to be able to drive there in a few minutes. If you have never been to a water park (or even if you had) I must say that Camelbeach is one of the biggest and best I’ve gone to. Camelbeach takes up the entire bottom of the ski slope, and then some. And the offer of cabanas was very tempting (I would suggest spending the money, if you have a big group). There is also an Adventure park next to Camelbeach. PS. Don’t go there without getting or looking up a coupon. I can imagine skiing being just as fantastic, as you are so close to the slope you don’t have to get up at wee hours for the morning drive.
We did a bunch of other activities (which I do not want to bore you with the details) but I do want to mention that I did see my very first “pig race” at a county fair.
Take care and happy vacationing.
