My family just had the most wonderful stay at this lovely lakeside home. The property is less than a mile from the town of Saranac, yet it is completely secluded and peaceful. The owners have thoughtfully provided everything that one would need for a pleasurable vacation.
The house and yard are even more beautiful than in the posted photos. The house is very large, clean and comfortable, with big bedrooms, showers with excellent water pressure, and more rooms downstairs than we could use. We especially loved the cozy sunroom. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking equipment, dishes, and detergents and soaps. There is a large washer and dryer in the basement.
There is a wonderful deck in the back with a grill and lovely views of the lake and mountains in the distance. The yard is huge and fenced away from the street, so that our dog was able to roam and play in the yard and lake safely.
We were most drawn to that fact that the property is right on the lake with a private dock and canoe that we could use. The area is ideal for paddling as far as you like -- we took along a picnic one day and had lunch on one of the tiny islands that dot the area. We found that we needed a second canoe for our two children (ages 11 and 14), but, with town so close, it was easy to rent one and have it delivered to the house.
In short, we had a hard time leaving this beautiful place and hope to return in the future!
