Our fabulous South Maui condo is located on the 4th floor of the Kihei Akahi complex in Building 'C'. The bedroom contains a King size bed with a new flat screen TV. Wireless internet is available and included. The living room has been decorated with an entire new suite of furniture including a new sofa bed, new dining room set, flat screen TV and a new comfortable easy chair. The lanai has a lovely ocean view and also overlooks the beautiful gardens of the Kihei Akahi.
The condo is located in the Kihei Akahi complex which is directly across the street from one of Maui's finest beaches, Kamaole II. There are many restaurants, shops and amenities within easy walking distance. For those not renting a car there is easy access to bus routes that will take you all over the Island. Our condo is on the fourth floor and there are two elevators and stairs which can be used to access it.
The Kihei Akahi complex is equipped with two pools, BBQ's, an onsite tennis court and beautiful gardens. It is truly one of the hidden treasures in South Maui.
This is our first visit to Maui and thoroughly enjoyed having Kihei as our "Home" Base. So close the beach, fantastic selection of restaurants and attractions. We felt very comfortable in this great condo and did not take long ot relact and immediately start our holiday. Beautiful views from our Lanai will be missed but this will certainaly not be our last visit to Kihei.
Hopefully we will return in 2012!

My husband and I left the kids behind for a 5-year anniversary trip and it was truly a great getaway!
We arrived at Kihei Akhai at about midnight in our arrival date. The late check-in process was quick and painless. The condo was perfectly located for the activities we would want to do during our stay: beach, pool, golf, scuba, tennis, etc. It was also close to restaurants and groceries. We would say the location was "excellent" and that is the most important thing to us.
The condo was by no means spotless, but it was clean enough. I knew what to expect based on the pictures provided in the ad and the pictures were accurate. I was, however thrown off by the following statement in the ad:
"It has been completely renovated in the last year. Almost everything in this beautiful unit is brand new." As a renovator and landlord myself, I feel that this is a deceiving statement. The only thing that we could see was "new"ish is the carpet in the living room and bedroom and maybe some furniture. Everything else was very very dated. Coming back to my comment re: cleanliness, I felt that it was as clean as it could have been considering the sheer age of the shower, counters, tile, appliances, etc.
The condo was well stocked with beach gear, which is something that we appreciated! Also, we were provided with plenty of towels and cooking utensils.
The air conditioning cooled the living room and kitchen very well and with the assistance of the fan in the bedroom we were also a good temperature when we slept. There is a window above the closets in the bedroom that leads out to the hallway and it is not a fixed pane of glass. There wasn't very much sound proofing from the hallway and when someone walked down the hallway talking it sounded like they were in our room! However, this seemed to be a common form of "window" throughout Maui.
Our flight did not leave until 11:30pm on our check out date so I requested a late checkout. I was denied which was a slight disappointment. It would have been nice to have a nap and shower in the early afternoon to make the most of our day. Just a suggestion for future renters: request your late checkout on your first day. Maybe they will be more accommodating?
Anyways, we had a fabulous time in Maui and enjoyed Kihei Akhai very much. We would stay in this property again and would suggest it to others. If you plan on spending a lot of time in your condo, perhaps pay the $200+/night for luxury. if not, this is perfect! Thanks!
