Enjoy beautiful views of Cape Cod Bay, from the living and dining rooms, porch, and master bedroom in our house. We occasionally see whales while sitting at our dining table! Fall asleep to the sound of waves in this peaceful location.

With the panoramic views from this house, you can see Cape Cod bay AND (in the other direction) across the Cape! Watch the sun set across the bay behind Provincetown, and see the sparkle of Provincetown lights at night. Look across the Cape to see the Highland Lighthouse (on the ocean side of Truro). The Cape is only 1.5 miles wide here. It is a great spot for wildlife viewing.

The kitchen, living room and dining areas are on the 2nd floor of this contemporary house, in a large open hexagonal great room with a wood paneled 15 foot cathedral ceiling. The many windows around this room don't just have nice views- they bring in light and a nice breeze. 

The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, great for preparing big family meals. Since the kitchen is open to the living and dining rooms, the cooks are never cut off from the action, and it's easy for everyone to participate. The second floor porch also has a grill and table for a sunset dinner. 

Three of the bedrooms have queen sized beds, one has a full bed. There is a queen size sofa bed and one air mattress. One bathroom has a bathtub and washer & drier. The other has a shower. There is also an outdoor shower to wash off salt and sand from the beach.

The house has books and board games and puzzles for everyone.

Walk 1/2 mile to Cold Storage Beach - a beautiful bay beach with a great low tide that's perfect for small children. Or play in the wilder ocean-side surf on beautiful Coast Guard Beach, 2 miles away- an easy bike ride. There are many more beaches you can drive to!

Only 8 miles from downtown Provincetown and Wellfleet.

About The Owner

Amy is a scientist and nature lover who has been vacationing on the Cape yearly since before she was born. She lives in Iowa at present, but typically spends most of June in this house. Her extended family gets together in Truro every June.

The Owner purchased this house in 1996
Why The Owner chose North Truro

I have vacationed in Truro my whole life. My parents came here as children, I came here with them, now I bring my children! I love the Cape, I love Truro, I love the beaches it is near, and I love being near the ocean. There are 10 beaches in Truro and the Cape is about 1.5 miles wide where we are. You are always close to the ocean. It is a quiet area in an uncrowded part of the Cape. More than half of Truro is owned by the National Seashore (a national park) so it's the least developed town on Cape Cod. We have easy access to the many good restaurants, shopping etc. in Wellfleet and Provincetown.

What makes this house unique

Wonderful views, nice sea breezes, many windows, lots of light. Great for wild life watching- we even see whales occasionally! The kitchen is great for cooking large meals. The lobster pot can fit a 6 1/2 lb lobster. This house is great for large family gatherings. Wild blueberries grow in the back yard.

Beautiful views, close to the beach, good space family meals, peace and quiet!

My family loves our vacations here. There's nothing better than cooking dinner with family and friends and then sitting on the deck to take in the breeze, the sunset, the stars! Seriously, when we're not at the beach or biking the Province Lands trails, we live on that deck!

North Truro is a beautiful area. It's much quieter and more pristine than the western towns on the Cape. We were lucky enough to hear a pack of coyotes howling one night! We also saw lots of seals on the bay and ocean sides this year.

The house is also close to excellent restaurants and night life in P-Town and Wellfleet. We went to Mac's in Wellfleet twice this year -- the oysters and martinis are out of this world! And try the french bakery in Wellfleet. The croissants are divine.

This rental is an excellent home base for all the fun and beauty the upper Cape has to offer. But it's also a great place to just spend the day and relax. It's a special place. Our time there is always the best week of our year. We've gone the last 3 years in row.
