Renting from VRBO or Homeaway is stressful, as I'm often a little nervous about the purchase I've made. Not so with this rental! From the initial response, the owner gave me far more information then I needed to make up my mind. Yes, this is a smaller unit. The owner points out multiple times that it is 500 sq feet, and an interior unit. But, he counters these issues by providing a quiet and clean condo in a perfect location at an incredible rate. Everything was in order. The unit was clean, well stocked with everything we needed to eat in, did I mention the location was great? For a monthly renter, or someone looking to escape the cold, this is an ideal option.
I knew going in the room was small and had no openings like windows or a balcony. There was plenty of utensils, plates, glasses, etc: The air conditioning unit worked fan as did both ceiling fans. Pans for cooking were not very good as food stuck to them while cooking. Love the pool, beach, and the other guests. Been coming to HVIII off and on since 1976 and it is still one of the best units on the Gulf.
The listing was accurate. Was fairly clean, but lots of dustballs behind the dresser and under the bed. Did not find toilet bowl cleaner and I don't believe the rim under the bowl has been cleaned in a long time. When I ran the bowl brush under the rim, a lot of mold, crud and black stuff came off. \
I had no problem with the owner and his directions were excellent. I do recommend HVIII to many people. Over the years many of the restaurants that use to be so good are no longer there.. and some even have the building torn down. One good restaurant is now a Park and tourist thing. As always, those with good tastes can still be pleased with the Wine Cellar. Personally I was very disappointed in the Salt Rock, yet others love it. We were told a 1/2 hr wait which turned into and hour and a 1/2 and I ordered a medium rare filet mignon that was overcooked, very dry and quite chewy. Now Dockside Dave's was very good and the dog restaurant was not bad--Harold Seltzer's was our best meal and was much improved over Sam Seltzer's. We also like Ruby Tuesday at the Tyrone Mall . At a good meal also at PJ's and a good breakfast at the Frog Pond. We also enjoyed the ice cream at the Amish ice cream parlor on the Madiera Way.
I was searching for a condo large enough for myself and my wife. We are retired and on a fixed income, so pricing was also important. Our wish list included a quiet spot when we wanted to relax, but near enough to activities to enjoy our social moments. We also didn't want to compromise on location. WE WANTED TO BE ON THE BEACH!
Well, we honestly thought this wish list was just a dream. We were wrong!
This condo in Holiday Villas III met all of our expectations. Although we didn't have an ocean view from the unit, the fact that we were on the beach, with a pool available to us, made it the perfect location. Simply said, this is the perfect spot for a monthly (long-term) renter. It combines all one could hope for in location with a price that we could not find anywhere else.
The rental process with Seth was simple, and any questions I had were answered quickly. The unit was clean and fully stocked for easy living. We even paid for a mid-month cleaning from Paula, which was super reasonable, and continued our retirement-vacation experience.
Thank you, and I hope to return next year.
We stayed here Memorial Day week 2009. It is an interior unit with no balcony, but it is right on the beach and you can't beat the price. The condo had everything we needed with plenty of towels. The pool area was very nice with Tiki huts to have lunch at and on the other side there are even grills to use. The beach is very quiet and family oriented - which was perfect! I would definitely stay here again.
Rented for 2 weeks during Christmas 2008. Everything one could ask for. Great location, friendly staff, great pool with view of Gulf. Unit had everything one needed, was very clean. Would rent again, owner very helpful.
This is on a beautiful spot on the Gulf. We rented for
three days---perfect for my husband and I. The pool and
amenities, including grills and tables were great. The condo was an inside condo, which we were told about,
and didn't have outside windows, but was still great---
quiet. The condo had everything and was clean.
There are lots of good restaurants nearby
We would definitely rent again!
Indian Shores is one of the most desirable Gulf of Mexico Beaches. Not only does it feature wide, white sandy beaches, but it is in the 'narrows' which means the building sits directly on the beach and owns the property all the way to the intercoastal. This means you have all the benefits of the beach with a private fishing dock on the intercoastal, owned by the building, which you can pull your boat up to. The building is very close to the famous Salt Rock Grill, as well as The Lobster Pot and Shells, which is a great waterfront eatery. There is a trolley that takes you to the many eateries, ice cream shops and the Johns Pass Boardwalk. Enjoy your vacation paradise!
