Drive along beautiful Murray Cove Road and enjoy the quaint boathouses and magnificent vistas. Turn and drive up through our heavily wooded 3 acre estate to arrive at 'The Lodge', a 5500 square foot completely renovated mountain lodge in a clearing overlooking pristine Lake Burton.
Upon entering The Lodge, you will be awestruck by the attention to architectural details and the views from every room. The house is surrounded by decks on 3 sides with a stunning 625 square foot cedar timber frame screen porch perched in the woods overlooking the lake. The porch has seating for 10, a dining table and an indoor gas grill located adjacent to the kitchen.
On the main level, the interior boasts vaulted beamed ceilings with a great room, massive stone fireplace, dining room for 10-12 and a fully equipped gourmet kitchen - all opening to a game room with pool table and poker/card table. In addition there is a private library/office with a desk, a game table and 2 chaise loungers to curl up by the fireplace and read or nap in private. There are 3 large private bedroom suites including the master, all with queen beds. There is a widescreen HDTV in the great room entertainment center and a standard definition TV in the master. The entertainment system feeds speakers located throughout the main level.
On the terrace level there is a family room with TV, VCR, and DVD, 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. One bedroom has a queen bed and the 'dorm' room has 2 queen beds and a double futon. Exit this level to a covered deck overlooking the lake or meander down to the Boathouse.
The Boathouse has an elevated deck for sun bathing with beautiful views of the 'big water', the mountains and golden sunsets. Also the most perfect location on the lake to watch the 4th of July Fireworks and Parade of Boats Spectacles.
The interior of the boathouse is screened, has a sitting area, bar, dining table, CD player, microwave and a gas grill just outside. Attached is an open boat slip and floating dock. The boathouse can be accessed by walking or by golf cart.
'The Lodge' has very expansive, inviting spaces that can handle a large gathering for a family reunion or corporate retreat and still provide very comfortable privacy. Even for a small party of 2-4, this home is very warm and intimate.
We look forward to assisting you with your upcoming vacation plans.

We are Gail Cook and Lance Lipman, residents of Atlanta, GA for 30+ years. We purchased this home in 2002 and did a full interior renovation including a new kitchen, all new baths and added a fabulous 625 sf screen porch. Gail is a home builder and used her talents to make this home a very unique experience for family, friends and visitors. We have 2 children with many friends and 2 dogs, so this home is family and pet friendly. We enjoy every minute that we can spend at beautiful Lake Burton.
In 1994 we visited friends that had a family home on the lake for 30+ years. The minute we arrived and saw the pristine water surrounded by the lush North Georgia Mountains we were sold. We made it our goal to own a home on the lake. After 2 years of searching we purchased our first home in 1996. Then we set our goals on a home to be located on the BIG WATER with GREAT VIEWS and SUNSETS. Mission accomplished when we found this very special house in 2002.
While this house is much larger than we would have planned for, we have really enjoyed the spacious 'LODGE' floor plan and the privacy that the home offers to family and friends. This little 'Slice of Paradise' has all of the amenities that you would want in a relaxing vacation home. Comfortable and peaceful with beautiful lake and mountain views.
