This wonderful cottage has been completely remodeled from top to bottom and is less than a five-minute walk (approx. 100 yards) to beautiful Lake Michigan! Enjoy the quiet of this peaceful setting and have easy access to a spectacular beach at the same time! Very few properties offer such easy access to Lake Michigan at such a reasonable rate! This home is perfect for a family or two couples! It is a very charming, very clean and extremely livable! The interior has a very open floor plan, with living room, dining room and kitchen flowing together. It is very nicely furnished. In the back of the home is a very cozy screened porch. This home is stocked with all linens and kitchenware. It has CATV, DVD player, a laundry room with washer and dryer, as well as a charcoal grill. Often, the fridge has coffee, condiments and salad dressings. Feel free to use what's there and leave behind what you don't want to take with you. The house is also air-conditioned and heated. This cottage has been the site of many unforgettable vacations! It has been enjoyed by both families for a summer vacation and by couples enjoying a romantic weekend. Begin your day on the peaceful screened porch, where you can plan your day.

You may choose to walk the beach, visit the shops or art galleries in South Haven or Saugatuk, charter a fishing boat or sailboat, rent Jet Skis, go fruit-picking at one of the many local orchards, visit the Fenn Valley Vineyards or just stay on the porch and read a book! At the end of the day, you will likely want to watch the spectacular sunset on the beach! Then you'll get to do it all again the next day! For those who know South Haven, this terrific cottage is about one mile north of the Dyckman Bridge, on the north side of town. The shops in South Haven are less than a five minute drive. Saugatuk is about 15-20 minutes north on the Blue Star Hwy., which has art galleries and antique shops along the way.

My husband and I rented this cottage with our 15 month old for our anniversary. It is very well kept, very clean and had everything supplied that we needed. The owner was very quick to reply to all of my emails and very pleasant to work with. We went at the peak of fall folliage so the town was deserted but beautiful. Unfortunately the weather didn't quite cooperate and we only saw the lake from the top of stairs before we were blown away. We would love to come back during warmer weather! FYI, we made daily trips to Walmart where we rented movies for a $1 each at the Redbox movie vending machine. I highly recommend it :)

The Three R's

Romantic, Restful & Relaxing are the three R's that describe this adorable & cozy cottage. Great for a family get away, small group gathering or 2nd honeymoon.
Celebrating a recent graduation. Our family enjoyed ourselves immensely.
The property owner is a gracious and accommodating host.
We would love to go back and visit again soon.

A bit misleading, maybe.

A. 100 yards to the sreet that leads to the path that leads to the stairs that lead to the beach!

B. No information about surrounding area-that we could find. (We left some.)

C. Cottege was beautiful, but remodeling was incomplete, and the trash around the house was unsightly.

D. Not a mixing bowl or measuring cup to be found.

Overall all, after we got over the initial disapointments, the experience was fine.

Great Little Cottage Off the Beaten Path

We stayed at this cottage for the Labor Day weekend and enjoyed the convenience to the beach, festival, and downtown. The floorplan is very open in the living areas of the cottage while the bedrooms were rather small. The beach is just down and across the street which was great. The convenience to shopping (great Farmers Market), restaurants, and beach make me want to return to this home again.
