About Loren Impson

Hey, I'm Loren. I've been enjoying this slice of paradise for a few years and am now helping other people come down and enjoy the ocean and warm sea breezes on Roatan. It is always a pleasure to show other fellow travelers some of the choice places I've been privileged to live in around the world.

Why Loren Impson chose Roatan

You'll love the quiet, laid back atmosphere. Relax and enjoy the tropical experience with beautiful singing birds, flowering plants, warm climate and tasty fresh seafood. Visit the local market in Coxen Hole, just a short 2 mile taxi ride away, or head down to West End to try the many restaurants and local craft shopping experiences.

What makes this villa unique

Seadancer offers a 350 ft dock with double deck. Sit on top and enjoy the view. Below hang your hammock and read a book. Swim out to the reef and snake your way through to where the dive boats bring patrons to dive the 200' walls that plunge into the ocean.

The Epic Honeymoon

  • 5 of 5

We were directly on the beach with a perfect long dock for enjoying sunrises and our times with our new friends, the other guests. I cannot speak highly enough about the owners. Our bed was decorated in heart-shaped rose petals when we arrived. They all welcomed us. We spent time out on the dock with some of the friendliest and just happiest people. We went out there in the mornings drinking coffee and talking about our days and what everyone had planned. People gave us rides and helped us with cabs and get to know the area. Folks were VERY generous. We all watched the sunsets together and went out to dinner a few times. I cannot say enough about the amazing people that stay there.

Don was perfect and took care of anything. A piece of the blender broke and I let him know before I left for lunch. There was a brand new blender in our room when we got back an hour later! We think Don is just a really kind man and a huge help for us.

We had fast access to Coxen Hole and West End. Owners Bob and Debi and Bill and Phyllis are now dear friends to us and they were what made our honeymoon so perfect.

The amenities were very nice, and the bed was very confortable. There were no bugs and there very very few dogs barking.

Simply put, it was the honeymoon we dreamed of and this peaceful, tranquil location filled with natural beauty and awesome people made it all work.

Thank you to everyone at the Sea Dancer. You will see us again!

Just as advertised!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at Sea Dancer villas. Everything that we needed to be comfortable was provided, the location was fabulous...close enough to get to town and the beach but far enough way from things to not be impacted when the cruise ships came in.

The dock was amazing! We enjoyed our coffee out over the ocean every morning. The snorkeling off the dock was great...although we did snorkel in West Bay, which was amazing, but for the effort it took and the number of people there, we ended up choosing to stay at home most of the time.

The villa that we stayed in (#6) was spacious and open with a fabulous view of the ocean! We enjoyed watching tons of hummingbirds by filling the feeder with sugar water. At night, the bats would drink from the feeder, which was absolutely amazing to see. The bed was comfortable, the furniture was new and comfortable. The kitchen utensils could use some maintenance...they were a bit rusty (I'm sure due to the constant moisture in the air) and the knives were not the best for cutting. That said, we had everything we needed and although it isn't a luxury resort, it is amazing given the reasonable price.

The manager, Don, was a huge blessing. If we had any problems (while we were there, there were issues with the Internet) he was available to solve the problem quickly. He had great suggestions of things to do, see, and eat while on the island. We felt completely safe the whole time there. Using the taxi cabs was an easy way to get around...even more fun and cheaper were the buses. The buses are basically mini vans that run from Coxen Hole to West End. They come by the road that the villas are on very frequently, making it a cheap and easy way to get around the island. We bought groceries at Eldon's and Plaza Mar...both are good and prices are comparable to the states. I will say that Eldons had a better selection of most things that we purchased.

Kayak rentals were easy as there is a shop two houses down the beach. We kayaked the reef and the mangroves right by the house-definitely worth the effort! My husband never used bug spray, however I had to mostly when we went out into town and I should have when we kayaked the mangroves. Sea Dancer does not have sand fleas, guessing because there was someone there raking frequently, however walking further down the beach into property that isn't raked, they are there!

Overall, we had an amazing time and hope that we get to return someday soon!

Relaxing Week at the Seadancer!

  • 5 of 5

My family of four just returned from Roatan and enjoyed every minute of our visit. The Seadancer was a wonderful place to stay. We snorkeled every day off the dock and found a variety of life out on the reef. Tony, the local manager, was a great help whenever we needed anything. The dock was a peaceful place to read and enjoy the sunset. I also would highly recommend the Coconut Tree Divers operation in West End. It was an excellent dive operation. We can't wait to go back!

A cottage in paradise

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 3 weeks the end of March 2012. It was exactly as we thought it would be, a rustic cottage in paradise. The listing describes it exactly as it is and the pictures accuately describe the property. Ed was a great help answering all of our questions before we arrived

When we arrived Tony the property manager was there to greet us and show us to our unit. Once we unpacked, we walked up to the road and hopped on a collectivo into town to buy groceries (very cheap and easy way to get around) and only a few minutes drive to the grocery store (not much different from home). We never bothered to rent a car as it was so easy to get around using the collectivos or taxis (also very inexpensive) and never did we feel unwanted or threatened. Everyone on the island was very polite and helpful.

The unit was equipped with everything we needed for cooking and enjoying our stay. The fresh fish delivery was fantastic!

As mentioned in past posts, we never missed the air conditioning with the breeze from the water and the trees around the unit giving us shade it was quite comfortable.

The end of the dock was the place of gathering. Everyday we would head out snorkelling from the dock (best place ever to snorkel) and at night gather with our neighbors to enjoy the beautiful sunsets over the water, we even made a few early morning trips to watch the sunrise.

The island is beautiful. We did an Island tour and made a couple of trips into West End and West Bay but we went there for a relaxing vacation and we were not disappointed. We would recommend Seadancer to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing, inexpensive get-a-way.

We will return!
