Nestled within the Palo Pinto Hills, above the Brazos River, exists a place like none other... A place for families and friends to experience Texas in its natural beauty. Lucky Cross Ranch was founded by its current owners in 2001. It is a working cattle ranch, with a history steeped in legends and campfire stories. The name “Lucky Cross” comes from an old Indian legend. If they were lucky, the river at either end of the ranch’s property would be low enough for the Comanches to cross. After crossing on horseback they could then double back on anyone following them or presenting a threat.

The Ranch’s beauty has drawn attention from numerous organizations looking for the perfect Texas backdrop. Neiman Marcus recently came out for a photo shoot, Texas Brand Chili shot an advertising campaign, and Texas Tourism took pictures for their 2009 brochure right on our property!

Located 8 and 1/2 miles west of Mineral Wells, TX, our ranch offers the ultimate western adventure getaway- complete with hiking, canoeing, tubing, fishing, and nature activities of all kinds. Guests arrive through our private entrance and can stay in our ranch house, surrounded by the most beautiful hill country in all of Texas.
