Our Finca 'Casa Rustica' is located in the green north western region of Tenerife in the village of “El Tanque”, located app 1,600 ft above sea level in the hills above Garachico near Icod de los Vino and far from the mass-tourism resorts of the south and a 35 min drive from Puerto de la Cruz. The panoramic view from the terrace across the Atlantic is breathtaking. The house was first built in 1881, but was recently restored and totally refurbished. From the large terrace you can enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of the Atlantic, looking across small vineyards. Tenerife's newest and most spectacular golf course, the Seve Ballesteros designed Buenavista Golf Club is nearby, a must-play for any golfing enthusiast. There are great walks within a short distance. The area is famous for its superb wines which can be sampled in the local restaurants. Our favourite is 'Monteverde' where you can enjoy some of the best local food available in Tenerife at extra-ordinarily low prices.

El Tanque is located on the main road from Icod de los Vinos to Santiago del Teide, some six miles from Icod at 1,600 feet above sea level, overlooking the Atlantic directly above the picturesque town of Garachico. To the village of La Tierra del Trigo where some of the greatest red wines of the Canaries are made it is only 10 minutes by car. The newly opened Golf Club Buenavista is about a half hour drive away. This course, which was designed by Severiano Ballesteros, is the most spectacular one of the whole Canaries and a must-play for any golf enthusiast. The safe beach of San Marcos is only 20 minutes away by car. Water temperature never dips below 21 degrees.

Internet Access: Casa Rustica is equipped with fast ADSL Broadband Internet access. Bring your laptop (must be LAN enabled) to keep up with urgent work or just deal with your emails. If you have Skype installed you can telephone for free with any other Skype user anywhere in the world or use Skype to call any number in the world at low rates.

Beaches: To the safe beach of San Marcos it is some 15 minutes by car. The beach fetaures toilets, showers and beach side restaurants. There is also a attractively landscaped rockpool area in Garachico (just 10 minutes by car) as well as a salt water pool.

Restaurants and shopping: El Tanque has several smaller shops, supermarkets and banks with ATM's, butcher shops and a bakery which is open from 8 am - 8 pm every day.

Golf: To Buenavista Golf Club it is approximately 30 minutes by car. Buenavista, designed by Severiano Ballesteros, is Tenerife's newest golf courses and it is most spectacular. Five of the greens are right on the edge of the Atlantic. The course provides a challenge to any golfer. From the terrace of the modern club house, you overlook the whole course and the Atlantic in the distance. Good quality sets of clubs can be hired. „Sehr geehrte Familie Habbe, es hat uns in Ihrer Casa Rustica sehr gut gefallen. Das Haus selbst, die Lage - alles war perfekt. Wir werden es gern weiterempfehlen und vielleicht - Ihr Einverständnis vorausgesetzt - auch selbst einmal wiederkommen. Wir haben wunderbare Ferientage auf Teneriffa verbracht, die Finca und die Umgebung haben uns sehr gut gefallen. Das Haus ist wirklich sehr schön hergerichtet - einfach zum Wohlfühlen. Ein schönes Ferienhaus mit sehr guter Ausstattung. Alles funktionierte und war gepflegt und sehr sauber. Dazu eine himmlische Ruhe und die tolle Aussicht auf den Atlantik. Dazu ist die Lage in der Nähe der Masqa-Schlucht, der tollen Nordwestküste und einiger schöner Orte genial.
Vielen Dank noch einmal, dass wir das Haus für einen tollen Kurzurlaub nutzen durften.
