TOMMY BAHAMA STYLE BEACH COTTAGE

We recently stayed in this little house with our 3 children (5 years, 3 years and 4 months). The house was easy to get to and from anywhere, which was very convenient. It is a straight shot to the beach, about a mile away. The house was clean, but not spotless by any means. The bathroom is pretty small, but they did update it a bit and that was nice. A negative about the bathroom is that there is a window at eye level in the shower—that was a bit uncomfortable and there is a bit of mold in the corners of the shower. The beds in both bedrooms are very comfortable, but very squeaky and loud. The kitchen had most needed items, nothing new and fancy, but the basics. For you parents out there—there is only glass everything; no plastic cups or plates for the kids. The washer and dryer worked fine, but know that they are in the backyard right up against the house (they are sheltered). The TV in the front room worked fine; we did not try the DVD player. The TV in one of the bedrooms does not work by remote control; it turns it on and off but does not change the channels. It was nice to have the driveway and not have to worry about parking. Note: there is a rented house in the back of the property (about 20 feet from the backdoor of this property). The renters use a gate to get to and from their house that is at the top of the driveway. This did not cause any problems for us as the renters were very nice, but they did mention they were moving out due to a rat problem. The property manager was very efficient, but not overly warm or hospitable.
Bottom line…would I stay there again? Most likely—NO because if we travel to CA again, we’d go to a different city. Did it serve its purpose? Most definitely Yes. The cost for the week was very, very reasonable and allowed our family of 5 to do much more in San Diego than we originally thought. I did not have to worry about anything getting ruined by the children which was also a plus!
