Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I travelled with our 18-month-old daughter. We enjoyed the apartment.

The main light went out in the kitchen during our stay and Rosalba had a new bulb for us very quickly.

The apartment was a very brief walk to the main museums and we found we loved the restaurants in the adjacent square.

We wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

Gorgeous apartmem tperfectly located!

My husband (an Italian citizen) and I travel to Italy frequently for business and pleasure with our 3 children (2 of whom now live in Florence). This apartment is one of the nicest places in which I have had the pleasure of staying in all of Italy. Our son and daughter, who live around the corner from this apartment, also stayed here on another occasion when their apartment was being painted and the owner, Signora Rosalba, and her son Nicola could not have been more gracious and accommodating in helping them at the last minute. As soon as we got back home in September, we booked our 3rd reservation for 2 weeks at Christmas. Conveniently located near the church of the Santa Croce (and many restaurants and shops), the apartment is even more charming than depicted in the photos, immaculately clean, and very well equipped in the kitchen as well as in the bathroom (which had hairdryer, toiletries, and extra towels). The furnishings are stylish and most comfortable (particularly the very large sofabed in the living room and the queen size bed in the bedroom), with many antiques throughout and a beautiful small terrace with plants and amazing view up a few steps from the kitchen. The bedroom looks lie something from a 4-star hotel with 2 huge windows and elegant drapes, beautiful antique armoire, desk, and gorgeous down pillows, comforter, Frette sheets. The air conditioner worked perfectly during our hot August stay. As far as the steps, they are no ordeal, unless you have extreme difficulty walking. I am in my 50s and considered the steps great exercise and no burden at all. Do not miss the chance to stay at this affordable and beautiful apartment perfectly located within a 15-minute walk to the Duomo! I can’t wait to return in December and will continue to reserve Casa Nicola each time we visit our children in our favorite Italian city ! Grazie mille Rosalba and Nicola!

Perfect Vacation Lodging

  • 5 of 5
We were more than satisfied with Rosalba's charming, spacious apartment. The space is tastefully decorated with all the right touches, beautiful windows and a wonderful rooftop deck that was a great top-off. The apartment is centrally located yet quiet. Really well-suited for those looking for more than just a spot to crash. We were traveling with a toddler so it was wonderful to have a pleasant space to spend our evenings, and we enjoyed drinking wine on the little terrace, listening to the live street musicians down below. . . Only downside is the steps, there are a lot of them and they are steep, not ideal for lugging up lots of luggage. There was also a strange smell that developed at some point, despite our taking out the garbage daily, and we weren't able to trace this. But other than that we were supremely satisfied.

Just returned home after a 6 week trip to Italy. Three weeks were spent at CasaNicola. The central location was perfect for our daily trips exploring Florence. The apt. was clean and well equipped. The couches, perfect for our afternoon rest before the evening exploration trip. Loved the comfy bed, linens and great feather pillows.
Rosalba and Nicola are gracious, responsive hosts.
Thank you for sharing your Florence with us.

Outstanding

  • 5 of 5
Perfect location next to Santa Croce: great neighborhood and a few minutes walk to everywhere. The apartment's quite good sized and the small roof deck is a charming bonus. We stayed for a week and would have been happy there for a month! In addition, it's thoughtfully well outfitted in all respects, so we didn't find that we had to "make do" in any way. Rosalba was wonderfully responsive to our questions, etc. And we really appreciated that the apartment was absolutely spotless when we arrived--and not because everything was brand new (it wasn't). It's evident Rosalba takes a great deal of pride in Casa Nicola and wants her guests to feel at home. I'd recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to explore Florence.

Florence holiday

  • 5 of 5
Two dear friends from the US shared a terrific holiday in the Santa Croce neighborhood. The flat was perfect in every way. The stairs are well lit and have a hand rail so mounting them is a good way to work off all of the fabulous food. And the view is worth it! The sounds of the neighborhood make you feel like a native: church bells, playground, revelers at night. Perfectly situated near cafes and shopping, the flat is very clean and well-decorated. The bedroom is spacious and the hide-a-bed couch comfortable. Rosalba and family are wonderful responsive hosts. Internet is less than ideal, but cafes with access are in the area. Enjoy!
