Leave all your worries at home and come enjoy this wonderful tropical cottage. The TREEHOUSE is nestled on a hillside near Anse Chastanet Beach and is a short trip from the old French capital of Soufriere. The TREEHOUSE is a stone and wood cottage on an acre of tropical lushness. It is the perfect place for a honeymoon, relaxing holiday or an extreme adventure vacation. It has one bedroom, one full bath, a fully equipped kitchen, a sparkling plunge pool and a 180' view of the Caribbean Sea that includes the Pitons, St. Vincent, and Anse Chastanet Bay.
Besides providing for all of your needs within the TREEHOUSE, the surrounding area provides unlimited opportunities to truly experience the real St. Lucia. Among the activities are hiking, fishing, diving , snorkeling, mountain biking, kayaking, sailing, mountain climbing, rainforest hike, sunbathing (Anse Chastanet beach is a ten minute walk), botanical gardens, waterfalls, and bird watching (this can be done from the deck of the TREEHOUSE). There is no reason not to have the ULTIMATE TROPICAL EXPERIENCE at the TREEHOUSE.
The small town of Soufriere is only a twenty minute walk from the TREEHOUSE. Many natural places of interest including the Diamond Mineral Falls, Botanical Gardens, Sulphur Springs, the Drive-In Volcano and a few working plantations can all be found in and around Soufriere. In addition, there are grocery stores, bakeries, banks (ATM), a fish market, and numerous restaurants are located here.
Car rentals can be arranged or taxi services are available for drives/tours around the island. A few places to visit include Marigot Bay, Canopy Zip Lines, Rodney Bay/Pigeon Point, Castries and the RainForest.
We wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at the Treehouse. The staff was great--without exception. We appreciated the recommendations in the guestbook as it gave us peace of mind. We visited Gee's a couple of times--great food. We rode with Recardo and Moby Dick--both colorful characters and very pleasant. We hope to return to St Lucia someday and will keep the Treehouse in mind.
This was an amazing place to vacation from the view on the treehouse balcony looking at the twin Pitons to the valley just below it. There are hiking trails behind the treehouse as well as a great short hike to the Anse Chastanet Hotel and the beautiful blue water and sandy beach for some sun or just relax and listen to the waves of the ocean right beside the hotel. The water was so amazingly blue and calming. The food at the Anse Chastanet Hotel was wonderful and the service was great. The locals were all very kind and helpful everywere we went. The sightseeing trips were wonderful and informative from the Forest Tours to the trip to the Volcano. The mineral bath will make you feel ten years younger and make you not want to leave. Everywere you go you can stop and pick fresh fruits as well as a grocery store at the heart of the nearby town. The treehouse is just like a home away from home with all the necessary anamities right at your finger tips. The owner checked on us daily to make sure we were comforable and that we were enjoying our stay. You go to sleep with the sound of the crickets and wake up listening to the birds singing. I highly recommend this place for a first time vacation and for sure repeat visits.
From other reviews it looks like others have had better experiences, so read those too!
The view is great, despite being cut up by wires, and the property is lush and well maintained. The plunge pool is also well maintained and a fantastic addition being that the walk back from the beach is really more of a hike as it's about 20-30 minutes and steep uphill...we're 30 years old and in shape and it was tough after a day in the sun. The house itself is a great idea in general but the fact is, that after dark, the only place to hang out without being completely exposed to the outside world is the bedroom that has zero entertainment inside it. So you end up eating dinner and watching tv or playing games basically outside where everyone who drives by can look at you. Zero privacy. This didn't sit well with me...the house is up off the ground about 6+ feet but could easily be accessed by someone so I basically felt scared for 5 days straight that we would be robbed (especially after reading too many bad stories of crime in St.Lucia). The house was well stocked, kitchen was tiny but functional, and Charmaine the house keeper was friendly and available as well as the rest of the staff. I do wish they all didn't come before 10-11am...it was weird waking up to hearing them around our house and she knocks on the door as soon as she hears you're awake so you literally get no privacy here. I'm just not sure who this property is for...honeymooners would have no privacy, older folks would hate the walk to the beach and the noise, and families would have no space or security. It's also far from anything so cab rides cost at minimum $30US. I feel bad giving this review as Sam the owner is really friendly and great but I really didn't enjoy the stay...but maybe that's just because I'm a wuss and prefer to be around more people/entertainment? This house is on a corner so there is a road behind and in front of it...lots of road noise as one goes to the Jade Mountain resort and Anse Chastanet beach not to mention the construction noise behind the house. The guy working there did offer not to do "heavy" work until 10am and to not work at all one day of our trip but it ended up they were using loud saws and hammering around 8am everyday so really...there was no reprieve. There are 3 cats who live there, 2 of which are super friendly, the other is just shy. There are also cute frogs on the wall map at night which was neat. Plenty of old movies to watch and the water was warm.
Upon arrival, we were made very welcome by Charmaine, the delightful House Manager, who continued to look after our every need throughout our stay. Idyllic situation with the most amazing view of the Pitons from the wide balcony. Very comfortable accommodation with every comfort and excellent equipment. Close to the rather old fashioned town of Souffriere. Sad that most beaches on the island have been taken over by expensive resort hotels
We stayed at this gorgeous property in Saint Lucia in July, 2014. It was incredible! It not only had everything you could possibly need for your vacation, but to go with it... the most relaxed atmosphere, amazing location and the most phenomenal view you could ever imagine! Most properties on this side of the hill are thousands of dollars per night. But not this beautiful Treehouse. The birds would come and sit, the veranda/ deck was delightful, even when it rained! It was true magic this place!!! I can not recommend it highly enough. The photos don't do it justice! We have the fondest memories of this gorgeous treehouse. The staff were so helpful and always around, gardening / cleaning, checking in, etc. They organised us a rental 4wd and we had pick up from the airport from a great driver.
My advice: jump on this place and secure your spot! Well worth it, you won't regret it!!!! 10/10. The best VRBO we have ever stayed in!
Our stay at the treehouse 1 was magnificent! We have never stayed in a place that is open aired and feeling of nature all around you, with the convenience of wifi, a kitchen, and a window unit in the bedroom that keeps you comfortable at night as you sleep.
We enjoyed the company of the treehouse cats, which are not much of a bother as they only really want to be fed. They mostly lay on the balcony and sleep.
Charmaine and Clavie (treehouse driver) was always willing to help and answer our questions as needed. Charmaine is a great cook, she had dinner ready for us when we arrived our first night.
The plunge pool was nice to cool off quickly after our walks into town and to the beach. If you do walk, be prepared for hills since the treehouse sits up high above the town and beach...thats why you have the beautiful view of the pitons!! You will find yourself it awe when you see the pitons from the balcony. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony, staring at the pitons, just absorbing the serene sight of them.
We hiked up to the top of the mountain that the treehouse sits on, what a sight you must see!
If you are a scuba diver, Chester at Action Adventure Divers is the guy you want to see. He is so nice, helpful and wants to make your dives the best they can be. He is very honest and a good guy. He owns the dive shop. And his daughter was adorable and very friendly, she had fun with everyone visiting the shop ;) what a sight under the waves! Beautiful corals and a variety of life you will see.
All in all, staying at the treehouse gave us the opportunity to make long lasting memories for my husband and I and we are so thankful for Sam, Charmaine, and Clavie to help us (and spoil us) to make our vacation go so smoothly.
Sitting on the balcony of the treehouse that overlooks the pitons, sipping local rum, and listening to all the birds perched in the tree that shades the deck while writing this review...
The owners were fantasic with communication. Everything is promptly handled, and Sam responded right away to the baker's dozen worth of emails I sent him. Thanks, Sam.
Charmaine, Alvin, and John keep the house and grounds immaculate. Charmaine even has a meal waiting for you the first night.
This is a perfect paradise stay for couples that don't like the crowds of tourists that you will find at a resort. Grocery stores are a close drive away. They are walkable, however, a car is recommended. Will need driving directions before you drive anywhere as locals give vague details.
As veteran VRBOers, my girlfriend and I highly recommend.
