In January 2013, the downstairs living area received new carpeting and linoleum, giving it a fresh look. This charming, cozy A-frame home is nestled in on three sides by trees and vegetation, yet the peak-to-floor window-wall overlooks an expansive view of Skagit Bay, Whidbey and Hope Islands. The view delivers spectacular sunsets, distant mountains , seabirds, kayakers and Indian fishing boats.
A short jaunt out the backgate takes you to the beach which is the best in the area -- sand and pebbles covered with shells and driftwood, bordered with large 'soft' logs for resting on. Enjoy making a beach fire, which is allowed except during long hot/dry weather conditions. Guaranteed, children and dogs will love it., yet you will probably find yourselves the only ones there. (Except for the 4th of July when it explodes with families and fireworks!) The fresh sea air and crying gulls may lull you into a mellow mood inviting you to return to the house for fireside & coffee, or may energize you into activity.
Staying inside is cozy with the gas fireplace, a library of movies and CD's, and an assortment of boardgames. Reading a good book or napping on the two sofas, gazing at the view...whether tea or wine is your preference, you will definitely feel the stress of 'real life' drop away.
If you want activity, you are perfectly located for adventuring into the San Juan Islands, Whidbey Island, Anacortes, Deception Pass, Port Townsend, Vancouver B.C., Seattle, or hiking, kayaking, whale watching, bicycling, golfing.....
The house is located a 10 minute drive into the picturesque town of LaConner which is dotted with quaint shops and eateries. In another direction, a 20 minute drive gets you to Anacortes which is larger and has more shops, restaurants, and groceries.
The A-frame style cabin has a queen bed and bath in the upstairs bedroom (loft), and two bedrooms on the main floor. One is outfitted with 2 twin beds, the second is the Montana Room with a double bed. Its mattress is topped with a 3' Memory Foam Pad. The living room has a double-bed sized sofa Hide-A -Bed.
We leave the hide-a-bed mattress covered, but guests need to make up the actual bed when sleeping, using extra sheets, blankets and pillows that are provided.
Additional sleeping options include the extra-long living room sofa and a single foldup mattress kept in the twin-bedroom closet. There is plenty of extra linen to make up those additional sleeping areas.
Though the house comfortably accommodates 6-10 people, it's cozy enough that if you are by yourself or with a special someone, you will feel right at home.
There is also a laundry room with washer & dryer. We leave a couple extra rain jackets and an umbrella there for our guests in case you get caught 'unprepared'.
Our kitchen is fully stocked We have tried to anticipate most all your cooking needs. Many cooking utensils and serving pieces are on a wire rack in plain sight for your convenience. We have dishes for service of 12, and the dining room table sits 6-8 comfortably.
(An extra table-leaf and folding chairs are stored under the stairs.) We attempt to keep condiments in the refrigerator for your convenience.
Prepare yourself for a perfectly enchanting, affordable 'Getaway'. Wear your denim and sweats, slippers and tennies, and KICK BACK!
I remind that we are tucked in a lovely, quiet, serene residential neighborhood. We ask that any guests, large groups or small, be considerate of our neighbors and keep music and outdoor conversations appropriate to the surroundings. Though you are on vacation, our neighbors are in their home. Our yard, patio and deck accommodate large groups. Families and their friends are welcome. However, large, rowdy groups should not seek a reservation here. Your consideration of our neighbors is most important to us.

Diane and Gary live in Spokane, Washington. As often as they can, they come to La Conner to their 'Getaway' on Skagit Bay.
Our A-frame cottage retreat is named for my mother, Faith, who gave me the down payment 18 years ago. We call it the 'INN FAITH'. With its view of Whidbey and Hope Islands, it provides the faith and hope - you just add the love! (And we know you'll love it here!) We are newlyweds, living in Spokane. Our favorite home-away-from-home is La Conner.
The privacy, view of the bay, sunsets, walks along the beach delight us (and will you too). One of my favorite things to do is turn on the propane fireplace with its flames, turn all interior lights off, illuminate the deck with exterior lights that accentuate the peak of the A-frame to create a perfect setting to watch a winter storm or snuggle inside on a chilly evening, sip our favorite beverage.... AHHHHH Life is good.
