From the wrath of Hurricane Ida –Two Palms has been restored. The house is beautiful, inviting, comfortable and complete. This was our fourth year at Indian Pass and our second at Two Palms. It was wonderful to be back and the house was even more beautiful than before. We went seeking solitude and a place to rejuvenate ourselves. Two Palms provided. The weather was perfect as always-for January- cool sunny days, starry nights, flaming sunsets, brilliant thunderstorms and howling winds that brought abundant shells to the shores. Two Palms was the perfect shelter to take it all in. The white sand beach is wide and beautiful and we could walk for hours in either direction with our Lab and have it all to ourselves. The kitchen was fully equipped right down to the last detail. The furnishings were new, attractive and comfortable, and the beds, new linens and towels offered the pampered finishing touch. The front porch was our favorite spot providing shelter from sun, wind or rain. The winter sun rises and sets on the porch and we brought an extra blanket just for that purpose. Moving the hot tub to the lower front porch was a brilliant idea and so well thought out, creating another vantage point to enjoy the sunset and the moonrise. Within minutes we could have our kayaks in the water either in Saint Joe’s Bay or the bay at Indian Pass. We were even lucky enough to paddle with the dolphins at sunset. Port St. Joe is 20 minutes west with great grocery shopping at the Piggly Wiggly, a wine shop and restaurants. Our favorite is the Coastal Grill. We picked up groceries on the way in and only had to go into town once for supplies and dinner out. Thirty minutes east will take you in to Apalachicola, an old Florida experience with a rich history, quaint shops and wonderful restaurants. Two Palms is the perfect retreat. The Burns and their staff are friendly and eager to be of assistance and are only a phone call away. But with this fully equipped, beautiful home we didn’t have a need or want for anything. Thank you for another wonderful escape to Indian Pass. See you next year!

We are a family from a suburb in Chicago, Il. (Wilmette) who discovered Cape San Blas in 1998. We were so attracted to this beautiful area and this wonderful Gulf Front Beach home, called Two Palms, that we bought the house without me actually seeing the house. Boy we were lucky!!! What a great house and gorgeous area.

We stand ready to provide you with a value added and magical vacation experience. Our private manager/concierge, Donna, who lives 5 min. away, will be there to help you in any way and will take care of any problem or emergency you may have. We are also a phone call away from helping you in any way!!!!!

The beach is really large and wide here. There were/are 2 vacant lots to the East of our property and allows for wide angle and gorgeous unobstructed views of The Gulf of Mexico.

The lot is almost a full acre and there is only Two Palms between the highway (County Road C-30-A) and the Gulf of Mexico. Finally, on the other side of the road, is a huge Buffer /Preservation Reserve that has no houses or buildings on it. This is an extremely low density area, very private and views as a far as the eye can see. Enjoy the Hot Tub right on the deck for gorgeous views of the Gulf of Mexico, Beach and Brilliant Stars!!

This is one of the few Pet Friendly Beaches in the U.S. and the beach at the State Park was rated the BEST beach in the U.S. in 2003. Fishing is out of this world with some of the best and freshest shrimp, oysters, crab, scallops and Grouper you will find anywhere!! Lastly, there are no buildings permitted in Gulf County taller than 3 stories. There are no GIANT condos on the beach.

Bon Fires are permitted on the beach, car permits for driving on the beach are available and there is a very long bike path out to the State Park. Kayaks and Bike rentals are available.

Amazing property and great location!

We had an amazing family vacation in the Cape. This is such a family friendly area with many activities and places to explore. Lydia and Peter pay great attention to the details of this home. Best stocked kitchen I have ever been in and we rent yearly. I would highly recommend this location and home to anyone. We plan to return and will not look beyond contacting these owners. Fantastic Beach Home!

We had a fantastic vacation at this wonderful home. The open floor plan on the main level was great. There were 10 of us and it was great to be able to eat all together instead of in shifts! The kitchen is well-stocked with just about every utensil or pot/pan you could need. The "adults" were very comfortable in their bedrooms. The "kids" slept comfortably on the pull-out couch on the lower level. The beach was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! Over the course of the week we saw more dolphins than we've seen in all of our beach vacations combined. One day there was a pod of nearly 30 swimming up and down the shorline. Having a private boardwalk to the beach was great--and the beach itself was not crowded at all. It felt like we had it all to ourselves! The local manager Donna was fantastic and was very helpful getting us a replacement propane tank for the grill (ours ran out) super-quick. This is definitely a great spot!

Our attitude is that most folk’s plan a week’s vacation far in advance, when you finally get there the last thing you need is problems, and in the summer, when it gets very, very busy the local rental management companies just can’t provide the personalized service and attention that we can. It is not even close. We have been hosting folks at Two Palms for 15 years and we have been with almost all the management companies around Cape San Blas and they just don’t have the manpower, resources and specialization we do. They can’t give that attention to detail and service that we demand. We have experienced this first hand when guests would contact us and say they called the management company for 2-3 days and couldn’t get a call back. We just won’t tolerate that kind of service. What happens if the refrigerator or Air Conditioning goes out? That could really have a negative impact on your vacation. Why take a chance being a small fish in a big tank, when you can be the only fish in our tank! Come on down and find out what it is like to have Four Seasons Service at a beach home! One of our BEST Vacations Ever

While we have been wanting to visit Cape San Blas for several years, this year we were finally able to make it work and wow, are we glad we were able to go. If you like to get some R and R on vacation then this is the place for you. As far as the house is concerned, we could not have asked for much better. Lydia was very easy to work with before we arrived and our reservation went off without a hitch. We have rented many vacation properties over the years and I must say that the attention from the owners and property manager that we had on this trip is something that we have never had before. They go way above and beyond to make sure that you are having the best vacation possible. The house is very well equipped for everything we needed. The kitchen is very spacious and well stocked which is nice for us because we don't like to go out that much while on vacation and prefer to just relax and eat in. We were able to prepare several nice meals while we were there. There is also two grills on the property which is a plus as well. There is also ample seating so if you are traveling with several people there is plenty of room to spread out so as not to be sitting on top of each other. This was also a plus for us because my parents joined us for most of the week. Another plus is the vicinity of the house to the beach. it is only about 25 yards from the porch to the beach. We were able to come and go very easily. The best part was that we carried all of our beach gear down and set it up on the first day and didn't have to pack it up again until the last day. No need to worry about it being left on the beach as this is the norm at the Cape. The house was clean and the bedrooms were very spacious. The view from the porch off of the master suite was spectacular. All in all, this was one of our best vacations ever. The attention to detail and the effort from the owners and property manager to make sure we were having a great time was over the top. We even received a call from Peter the owner when we returned home to make sure we had a safe trip back and to see if there was anything we could recommend for improvement. I couldn't think of a thing to change. Thanks again Peter, Lydia and Donna for a great vacation home. We will definitely be staying with you again.

Owner's Response: You folks experienced firsthand, the above and beyond service that we provide our clients when your Air Conditioning went out at 8:00 PM on Wednesday. We immediately responded to your call and went into action to provide a solution. We maintain very close and personal relationships with our vendors and suppliers so that we can often “Pull out a rabbit from our hat”. That was the case with you folks. Donna has lived here for decades and knows ALL the service people in the County and often can “call in a chip”. The Air Conditioning service companies were closed and it was late at night, it looked like we would have to wait until the next day. We sent our personal Handyman out to survey the problem and diagnose a solution. When he couldn’t, Donna put a call into our service guy at his home phone at 9:00 PM and he came out to check the unit that night! We got lucky as he found there was a busted part to the unit and had the part in his truck. The Air Conditioning was up and running by 10:00 PM that hot summer night. It was a great effort on Donna’s part to get this kind of action after hours in the busy summer season. Of course we can’t promise this perfect outcome all the time, but it won’t be because we didn’t try very hard. Relationships, Family, Dedication and attention to detail is what makes us special and stand out from the rest.
The most important thing to know about staying at Two Palms is that we got your back! You can trust us and see for yourself why we get clients coming back for years. Think about it, what if, God Forbid, you had a family member who had an accident or medical emergency and your management company was closed for the night, or very busy, and didn’t respond. That won’t happen at Two Palms. Donna has brought out toilet paper at 10:00 PM, helped folks bring their Pet to a Local Vet after hours, and even driven guests to the emergency room.( she lives less than 1 mile away) The greatest thing about Cape San Blas is its remoteness. It is also one of the drawbacks when you have a problem or emergency. It is nice and very reassuring to know that you will not be alone in a strange place with no local knowledge and limited resources and support. WE GOT YOUR BACK!

Wonderful property!

This Beautiful house sits right on the beach and has a fabulous hot tub , 2 outdoor showers, a gas grill and a Weber charcoal grill, as well as a shuffle board court and horse shoe pit. Donna and the owners, Peter and Lydia, are wonderful hosts. The entire process of renting Two Palms was easy, from initially talking to Lydia, to Donna meeting us when we arrived! We were provided amenities like a baby pack and play and chairs for the beach. Donna was most helpful during our weeks stay offering suggestions for activities and fishing sights. A fantastic time was had by all! The house is comfortable and cozy. The kitchen is very well stocked and even has a coffee bean grinder, expresso machine, 2 coffee pots and a tea kettle. A screen porch would have been nice and Peter tells me he is planning on adding that in the near future. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a rental property around Cape San Blas area. B and T

We have thought long and hard about the benefits of screening in the porch. A lot of Folks, including us, think the view and experience is not as pure looking thru the screen. However, after the past season, it is clear to us that our guests want a screened in porch!!!
Therefore, we are going to screen in the main deck, facing the gulf at Two Palms!!!
It is scheduled to be completed by late fall/early winter of 2014.
So guests looking to come in the spring and Summer of 2015 will have protection from Yellow Fly’s and Mosquitoes. We will leave the Master Bed Room Deck unscreened for those folks who want the NATURAL look and feel. The best of both worlds.
We value deeply the input and suggestions of our guests most of whom are repeat renters, many with 4-5 years of staying at Two Palms. WE LISTEN, We respond.

Great vacation

Great vacation. Secluded beaches. Great floor plan. We stayed with 3 families and it worked well. We saw dolphins, went snorkeling at the State Park, went shark fishing and bay fishing with Captain Tim Harvey who was Amazing! We also crabbed in the canal close by and had crabs for dinner.
We were not crazy about the late check in and early check out, but I don't really see a fix to that unless the guests did all their own linens. I was impressed with all the extras in the kitchen (spices, lots of dishes and utensils).

Owner's Response: Thanks for your comments about our kitchen and supplies.We have photos of every cabinet and drawer in the kitchen, with contents in them,on pinterest so that folks can see what we have.It is under our name.If we don’t have the pan or utensil that you need just call Donna and we will get it for you!
We have done a lot of analyzing about check in-out times.The important thing about a vacation rental is the condition of the house when you arrive.We will not compromise on the cleanliness of the house At all costs, the house has to be properly cleaned.We need time to get the job done well and we never know the condition of the house until check-out time at 10:00 AM.We have had complete disasters with some clean-ups that have taken 8 hours or more It is just impossible to gage the amount of time a clean- up will take.We take great pride in our cleaners and they are permanent at Two Palms.We want to have the continuity that a permanent cleaner provides.She considers the house her own and takes great pride in the cleanliness and condition of the house.She knows every inch of the house and exactly what needs to be done week to week.
Most rental companies here have a 4:00 PM check in.We chose 5:00 PM to give us a little extra window to cover the potential for “trashed” conditions and to make totally sure that we get everything just right. We don’t want the cleaners to start cutting corners, taking short cuts and even skipping area’s because they are short on time.There is a tremendous amount of stress on the housekeepers to get the job done in a set/fixed time to be ready for the new guests.If there is some unexpected mess they can have the whole job screwed up.
Our attitude is to undersell check-in time by allowing for unexpected emergencies.It is much better to have folks set on 5:00 PM and then surprise them by allowing them to check in earlier.The vast majority of time we are able to gets folks in by 4:00 or earlier .We also allow folks to come drop their stuff off in the ground floor entry area and go down to the beach.Some drop off their gear and go into town for supplies.If a bathroom stop in necessary,Donna will direct you to her house.
We instruct guests to check in with Donna in the AM and she will let them know what to expect in terms of check in time.In some rare instances we have gotten folks in at 2-3 PM.We will work with you and do our very best to accommodate you. BUT we have to maintain our rigid cleaning guidelines.

There are no other houses in Front or Back of Two Palms. It is in between the Gulf of Mexico and the highway (Florida County Road C-30-A) west of money bayou and the Raw Bar. Also there are 2 vacant lots to the East of Two Palms , which is on almost a full ACRE lot, that creates glorious vistas of the beach and Gulf. It is a remarkably large compound, extremely private and almost deserted beach that is also one of the only remaining PET FRIENDLY beaches in Florida. Vehicles are also allowed on the beach with a permit. Finally, we have a private Manager/Concierge that lives less than 1 mile away who will help you with anything you need or desire.
