About Lydia Burns

We are a family from a suburb in Chicago, Il. (Wilmette) who discovered Cape San Blas in 1998. We were so attracted to this beautiful area and this wonderful Gulf Front Beach home, called Two Palms, that we bought the house without me actually seeing the house. Boy we were lucky!!! What a great house and gorgeous area.

We stand ready to provide you with a value added and magical vacation experience. Our private manager/concierge, Donna, who lives 5 min. away, will be there to help you in any way and will take care of any problem or emergency you may have. We are also a phone call away from helping you in any way!!!!!

Why Lydia Burns chose Cape San Blas

The beach is really large and wide here. There were/are 2 vacant lots to the East of our property and allows for wide angle and gorgeous unobstructed views of The Gulf of Mexico.

The lot is almost a full acre and there is only Two Palms between the highway (County Road C-30-A) and the Gulf of Mexico. Finally, on the other side of the road, is a huge Buffer /Preservation Reserve that has no houses or buildings on it. This is an extremely low density area, very private and views as a far as the eye can see. Enjoy the Hot Tub right on the deck for gorgeous views of the Gulf of Mexico, Beach and Brilliant Stars!!

What makes this house unique

This is one of the few Pet Friendly Beaches in the U.S. and the beach at the State Park was rated the BEST beach in the U.S. in 2003. Fishing is out of this world with some of the best and freshest shrimp, oysters, crab, scallops and Grouper you will find anywhere!! Lastly, there are no buildings permitted in Gulf County taller than 3 stories. There are no GIANT condos on the beach.

Bon Fires are permitted on the beach, car permits for driving on the beach are available and there is a very long bike path out to the State Park. Kayaks and Bike rentals are available.

From the wrath of Hurricane Ida –Two Palms has been restored. The house is beautiful, inviting, comfortable and complete. This was our fourth year at Indian Pass and our second at Two Palms. It was wonderful to be back and the house was even more beautiful than before. We went seeking solitude and a place to rejuvenate ourselves. Two Palms provided. The weather was perfect as always-for January- cool sunny days, starry nights, flaming sunsets, brilliant thunderstorms and howling winds that brought abundant shells to the shores. Two Palms was the perfect shelter to take it all in. The white sand beach is wide and beautiful and we could walk for hours in either direction with our Lab and have it all to ourselves. The kitchen was fully equipped right down to the last detail. The furnishings were new, attractive and comfortable, and the beds, new linens and towels offered the pampered finishing touch. The front porch was our favorite spot providing shelter from sun, wind or rain. The winter sun rises and sets on the porch and we brought an extra blanket just for that purpose. Moving the hot tub to the lower front porch was a brilliant idea and so well thought out, creating another vantage point to enjoy the sunset and the moonrise. Within minutes we could have our kayaks in the water either in Saint Joe’s Bay or the bay at Indian Pass. We were even lucky enough to paddle with the dolphins at sunset. Port St. Joe is 20 minutes west with great grocery shopping at the Piggly Wiggly, a wine shop and restaurants. Our favorite is the Coastal Grill. We picked up groceries on the way in and only had to go into town once for supplies and dinner out. Thirty minutes east will take you in to Apalachicola, an old Florida experience with a rich history, quaint shops and wonderful restaurants. Two Palms is the perfect retreat. The Burns and their staff are friendly and eager to be of assistance and are only a phone call away. But with this fully equipped, beautiful home we didn’t have a need or want for anything. Thank you for another wonderful escape to Indian Pass. See you next year!

Another great vacation--7th year-in-a-row!

Our vacation, September 6-20, 2014, was our seventh consecutive at
Three or Two Palms) in Indian Pass, Fl. As repeaters, we had our expected
wonderful two weeks of sun and fun on the beach and in the local
communities. Also, we appreciated improvements in furniture and the
painting of rooms and deck areas at Two Palms since our previous
visit last year. As usual, Two Palms was immaculate and ready
for occupancy upon our arrival. The property manager met
all our needs and was quick to update us on changes from the
previous year, especially, the availability of two kayaks for use
right off the beach. Our children and grandkids really appreciated
this addition. Fishing was spotty off the beach, but we had better
luck with two charters from the marina to St. Joe's Bay and
the Gulf. Our catch included Spanish Mackerel, Blues, small
Barracudas and many sharks ranging up to about fifteen pounds.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite some rain the second week,
and fully expect to return next year for another two weeks of relaxation,
sun, beach, fishing, and local gourmet dining.

PERFECT

Two Palms was EXACTLY what we were looking for and the pictures do not do it justice. The property is VERY well maintained by the owners and has a perfect floor plan with ocean views from nearly every room of the house. The owners and their management team are very helpful , professional and accommodating. My wife, our 2 dogs and myself stayed for 7 days and couldn't bear the idea of going "back to reality" because it was truly perfect. The area is great for a nice, relaxing getaway....no hustle/bustle, traffic or crowded places. The house is 2 minutes from Indian Pass Raw Bar, which turned out to be our favorite restaurant (we went there twice!). As we drove home, we were already talking about our next trip to Two Palms.

AMAZING! A slice of HEAVEN!

I don't know where to begin. From my first contact via e-mail(asking about availability) to the day we sadly left our rental.... Peter, Lydia, and Donna by far exceeded our every expectation. They take customer service to a whole new level!
Lydia was so kind and patient answering some of my beach questions. While vacationing, Peter called to check in on us to make sure everything was in working order and to see if there was anything he could help us with. He gave us numerous ideas. We couldn't fit them all in so we decided on shark fishing and an airboat ride. We had a great time with both activities! Donna is a GEM! She went out of her way to accommodate us. I drove from MN with my 2 kids, 4 month old granddaughter, and 2 dogs. Needless to say, I was frazzled by the time we got to Florida. The rest of our party flew in. We had a 2 hour wait to meet up with the rest of our party and no where to go to wait out the time. Donna was so helpful and let us unload the car at Two Palms even though they were still cleaning. Then she told me that the other house, for some fluke reason, was not being rented until the middle of the week and offered us the use of that home and the pool while we were waiting for the rest of our party to join us, or until Two Palms was ready to go. That was a blessing!! Donna also gave us great advice when it came to local restaurants
and help in finding scalloping trips. She also personally called to check in mid-week to see if she could be of any help. Like I said....top notch service!
As for the house and beach, the pictures do not do it justice. The house is very clean, "homey", comfortable , and well stocked! The hot tub on the deck was such a wonderful added bonus! I did not think we would use it since it was so warm out. Boy was I wrong! We sat in there every night. It was so relaxing and the view of the night sky was breathtaking! Nothing like listening to the waves crash while staring up at a sky lit up with stars! Perfect end to a fun-filled day! The beach is where we spent most of our time. It was so peaceful and quiet. We relaxed around a campfire by the water at dusk and watched the dolphins swim by during the day. Some days they were within 20-30 feet from us! What a sight!!
I highly recommend Two Palms and will definitely be back!

Look no further,you have found your vacation oasis

We just returned from a blissful week at Two Palms, and hopefully we will return one day! My husband and I are insanely busy professionals, and unfortunately, are not able to “part the seas” at our respective jobs very often to get away. When we do, it is critical that the vacation go flawlessly, and I am happy to tell you that the week at Two Palms exceeded our expectations! The house is perfect- clean, bright, with gorgeous ocean views. The concierge service was very helpful, and made us feel as if we weren’t alone- we used the concierge a couple of times while we were there for a couple of random items and were very impressed with the professionalism and service. The beach was fabulous- many times, we were the only ones on the beach. The house was well appointed and stocked with everything we needed. We prepared most of our meals in the kitchen, and I had all the pots/pans I needed to create meals. Because the house is pet friendly, we brought our dog, and you will be pleased to know that the furnishings/interior of the house do not show any evidence of its “pet-friendliness”. My husband and I spent each morning on the back deck enjoying a cup of coffee- wish I were back there already. A Piggly Wiggly/McDonalds/Burger King are about 10 minutes away at Port St. Joe. A couple of local shrimp places are closer- we bought some shrimp from one, and my husband loved them. During our stay, the owner, Peter, even called us twice during the week to check in and make sure everything was going okay. All in all, I would go back to Two Palms in a second. I’ve rented from VRBO/Homeaway many, many times, and our experience at Two Palms was by far the best experience I’ve ever had. In other rentals, I didn’t even hear from the homeowner, or requests fell down a black hole. With Two Palms, the experience was entirely different. I told my husband one morning as we were having coffee, “I feel like Peter [the homeowner] is our friend!” If you want a terrific house directly beachfront with best-in-class management, stay at Two Palms!

Amazing property and great location!

We had an amazing family vacation in the Cape. This is such a family friendly area with many activities and places to explore. Lydia and Peter pay great attention to the details of this home. Best stocked kitchen I have ever been in and we rent yearly. I would highly recommend this location and home to anyone. We plan to return and will not look beyond contacting these owners. There are no other houses in Front or Back of Two Palms. It is in between the Gulf of Mexico and the highway (Florida County Road C-30-A) west of money bayou and the Raw Bar. Also there are 2 vacant lots to the East of Two Palms , which is on almost a full ACRE lot, that creates glorious vistas of the beach and Gulf. It is a remarkably large compound, extremely private and almost deserted beach that is also one of the only remaining PET FRIENDLY beaches in Florida. Vehicles are also allowed on the beach with a permit. Finally, we have a private Manager/Concierge that lives less than 1 mile away who will help you with anything you need or desire.
