Bainbridge Island Cottage Rental Photos and Description
Cottage, Studio, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-3)
We call our guest house 'The Nest' as it literally feels as though it is nestled in the cedar trees that surround it. It is extremely private, clean and comfortable. 'The Nest' is located on a quiet country lane with the only traffic being the locals who live on the lane. Once inside the cottage, one feels as if they have turned off the rest of the world with only the water and passing boats, seagulls, herons and eagles flying by. A very short stroll will take you to the public beach access two driveways down the lane. Once on the rocky beach there are shells, rocks and sea life to look for as well as the wonderful sea air to breathe in.

About Hilary Newberry
My husband and I moved to Bainbridge Island in 2000. We had loved the island for many years but until our 4 children were through school we knew we couldn't move here. Once everyone graduated from high school and our youngest was away at college, we sold our home in the Seattle suburbs and moved to Bainbridge Island. We love it here and cannot imagine living anywhere else. Living here, on the water, makes us wonder why we would ever need to travel anywhere else since everyday feels like we are on vacation.
Hilary Newberry purchased this cottage in 2006
Why Hilary Newberry chose Bainbridge Island
We actually lived in our vacation rental for a year while we remodeled our home. The guest house was totally renovated in 2006 and still feels new. Our house is on the same property but far enough away from the rental to allow plenty of privacy for both the renters and us. We love this private, quiet area of the island, facing water, the Olympic mountains and setting sun.
What makes this cottage unique
Just outside the door and a short walk down the lane brings you to the public access stairway to the beach. A mile away is Battlepoint park where there is a very nice walking, biking trail. A mile in the opposite direction will take one to the famous Bainbridge Gardens nursery where there are a plethora of plants and a wonderful gift shop. There is also the New Rose Cafe located on the nursery property. This is a wonderful place to enjoy a latte' or lunch or pastry while sitting outdoors in the nursery. There are many other wonderful restaurants within a short drive from the rental. There is also The Grand Forest, a well known forested park with lots of trails within two miles of the rental. The island is a natural wonderland with biking, boating, kayaking and hiking venues everywhere. The wonderful village like city center is approx. 5 miles away and is loaded with shopping and amazing galleries where one could spend hours as well.
