What a nice place. Very, very clean and cozy. Just bring your food and charcoal. Quiet, relaxing, and peaceful. Had our two dogs and they also loved swimming in the river and sleeping by the water. Owner was friendly, helpful. Didn't leave property once, but if you need or forgot something, town is 15 min drive. bait shop and little pub walking distance from cottage, just over bridge. A++ to the owner.....GREAT TIME
House is well maintained, stocked with amenities, and WiFi! Cabin is located on the river closest to dam so boat traffic was non-existent making it very quiet and conducive for fishing. Owners were very helpful on guiding for fishing spots, local places but no need to leave as everything needed is there. Will definitely be booking again.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay this past weekend. Very relaxing! The cottage is very cute with plenty of space for a larger group. We loved taking the canoe out on the river. The area around Lake Koshkonong is so beautiful and pleasant. We will definitely be back. Probably sooner then later. Thanks much!
The hospitality we received is greatly appreciated. I needed this vacation very much and look forward to being able to vacation here again.
We enjoyed our vacation very much! Waking up to the view of Rock River every morning was serene. My husband and daughter enjoyed fishing off the pier which we had access to all the time. The rest of us enjoyed the peacefulness that surrounded us all day. I especially enjoyed feeding the ducks and watching them frolic in the river. While we were there we were able to visit Wisconsin Dells and took a tour of Wisconsin River on the Duck Boat. We went to a few antique shops in Milton, WI., where we purchased a few things for our home back in Illinois. The best (and the most painful for me) was our horseback riding trip. It was well worth the drive out to Mauston, WI. We went to Red Ridge Ranch, where they treated us considerably well knowing most of us were beginners. I definitely recommend going here for horseback riding if you are looking for a more natural experience.
If you are looking for peace and quiet, and to be surrounded by nature, this is a perfect place for it.
Stayed here October of 2009 and had a wonderful time! We fished from the dock everyday and our dog had a great time swimming in the river. It was nice to have a full kitchen, washer and dryer. The bait shop is within walking distance along with a couple of eateries. We also went to some state parks hiking and enjoyed the fall colors. George was very informative and suggested a few attractions in the area plus there are pamphlets at the cottage. The views from the porch and bedroom were beautiful. We will definitely be back; its so close to Chicago.
We rented this cabin during August 2009 for a family vacation and couldn't have had a better experience. The property is charming and well appointed. Our 10 year old son loved fishing off the docks and the bridge most days. We also took a day trip up to Wisconsin Dells which our 10 and 17 year old sons greatly enjoyed. The only downside to our vacation was how quickly the week flew by for our family. We'll definitely think about returning next summer.
