The house has a beautiful terrace and a sitting place in the vast and a well kept garden with a great number of exotic plants. The upper floor consists of two bedrooms and a bathroom with WC. The ground floor consists of two double bedrooms, two separate bathrooms with WC, a sitting room, a dining room, a well equipped kitchen and a small entrée. From the sitting place and the terrace on the first floor you have a breath taking view on the garden and the Atlantic sea merely 200 yards away. This accommodation guarantees to the visitors ideal conditions for quiet and unforgettable holidays.

Atalhada is a small traditional coastal village. Inhabitants are mostly local people who are working in the nearby city of Ponta Delgada. Our house is situated well off the main street, close to the sea which can be reached through the garden door (50 yds, rocky beach with a small natural basin fit for swimming at low tide). The distance to Ponta Delgada is about 8 miles, the distance to the international airport about 12 miles. In the vicinity you will find restaurants, small shops and a supermarket, sand-beaches and freshwater pools as well as a traditional pottery. By using the nearby motor way entry (about one mile) – opened in 2003 – you easily reach all of the islands points of interests, the starting-points for walks and the typical ‚miradouros‘ i.e. points with stupendous panoramic view over island and sea.

Die Lage,Erkundungsmöglichkeiten, Speiselokale usw. usw. Alles hervorragend. Das Haus, mit Zugang zum Atlantik, der gepflegte Garten, einfach Spitze. Wir träumen, nach einer Woche wieder zu Hause, immer noch
von Haus ,Insel und Atlantik, es war einfach wunderschön.

Der erste äußere Eindruck hat uns zunächst an unserer Wahl zweifeln lassen, doch sobald wir das Haus betraten und dann auch noch den Garten erkundeten, waren wir einfach nur begeistert. Urig gemütlich, großzügig, hell, sauber und eine perfekte Kücheneinrichtung - wir haben uns alle sofort wohl gefühlt. Der Garten ist ein Traum für jeden Pflanzenliebhaber und der direkte Zugang zum Meer ist das Tüfelchen auf dem i. In der direkten Nachbarschaft gibt ein einfaches aber gutes Restaurant und der Ort an sich bietet neben einem großen Supermarkt auch noch allerhand Abwechslung (z. B. unblutiger Stierkampf am Hafen). Das Haus ist ein hervorragender Ausgangspunkt für Erkundungen der Insel. Aufgrund der Straßenverhältnisse ist ein kleines Auto empfehlenswert. Wir kommen ganz bestimmt wieder.
