Hurry make your 2013 reservations now. On the south shore of Pratt Lake, in the community of Gladwin, MI sits our fun filled 2BR rustic cottage on 50 feet of water frontage. Pack your swimsuits cause you will need it! Pratt lake is great for your skiboat, waterskis, tubes, pontoon, kayaks or jet skis to play on all of the 180 acres Pratt Lake offers! Relax at the picnic table or sit and gaze at the lake from the deck. Grab a book and read in the sand. Enjoy the beach and great views of Pratt Lake. Pack your 'Smores' for the outdoor fire pit. Fish from the 40 foot dock. Public boat launch right down the street to launch all of your toys. Plenty of room to secure your water toys on the dock. Canoe included. Crystal clear water - great swimming. Water depth at our shoreline increases gradually - good for children. Firm, clean bottom. If you like to fish there is good pan fish, bass, walleye and pike fishing. If the fishing is tough, take a trip to downtown Gladwin and hit the trout pond! Light boat traffic except on holiday weekends. Our cottage was built in the 20s and was one of the original cabins on Pratt Lake. It has a full kitchen with all of the amenities, 1 full bath room, a large living room, rustic wood paneling throughout with painted pine hard wood floors. There is one queen and 2 full beds along with two sleeper sofas. Both the dining room and sun room look out over gorgeous views of Pratt Lake.

Awesome sand bar to park your boat for a relaxing stop in the lake.

Enjoy 1000s of acres of state land within miles of quiet paved roads ideal for cycling, ATV or walking. Canoe around the lake at dusk for great wildlife viewing. Look for our breeding pair of bald eagles or listen to the loons on early Pratt lake mornings. Look out at the point and you may see our local deer enjoying the water.

Golfing within 10-15 minutes. 5 minutes to the public library.

6 miles to downtown Gladwin for shopping, 30 miles to Houghton Lake, Midland and West Branch. 2.5 hrs from both the greater Detroit and Grand Rapids suburbs. Excellent ice cream store with the Gladwin famous “Pigs Platter” within 4 miles that can’t be missed!

About The Owner

My wife and I grew up in Michigan, and we love going up north! Ever since 1984, I’ve been coming to Pratt Lake. My wife and I knew we’d be going back to Pratt as often as we could. As our family grew, we found Pratt to be the perfect place to take the kids. They couldn't get enough of the lake. There was no question, we had to invest in our own 'Pratt Lake cottage.' We hope you'll enjoy all that Pratt Lake and northern Michigan has to offer. You'll want to keep coming back too! TJ and Maureen, Portage, MI.

Our family bought on Pratt Lake 30 years ago and I spent every summer on the lake as a child. When our cottage was listed in 2007, we knew we wanted to create memories for our children just the same and bought it the same day it listed.

Excellent Bass Fishing

Everything worked out well. Fishing was excellent for bass and the lake was beautiful. It was a great place for my immediate and extended family to have a relaxing vacation. The cabin accommodated everyone and though we have stayed in newer, more updated cabins yours was definitely roomy and comfortable and truthfully we did not need anything else. A relaxing week is what I was looking for and I definitely found that at Pratt Lake. The boys were able to swim comfortably in the sandy bottom well suited depth even for my youngest who is 6. They caught a lot of fish out on the lake but also were able to catch some right off the dock. We rented a pontoon from Secord Lake Marina and that helped to fully appreciate the surroundings.

Hope to make it back one year!

Great location and comfortable cottage!

The cottage was great and exactly as described on the site. Loved the sandy beach and the firepit facing the water. This was the only cottage on the lake with any sand which is a definite plus. And the neighbors couldn't be any friendly. It's the perfect lake in that you can do water sports, but the majority of the people use pontoon boats. Golf course was close by and a good course. Grocery store carried all the foods we have at home, so that helped. The weather was beautifu! It would rain after we went to bed each night and be sunny again in the morning. Too bad you couldn't add that to your list of features :>) Owners were very responsive and great to work with. Definitely would book again.

Just wanted to say thank you for the vacation at your cottage. We had a wonderful time, the grandkids didn't want to leave. You neighbors were also very kind and friendly. It was a great time and I'm sure I'll want to return.
