We fell in love with Captiva after a short visit to the gulf coast in 1998. We had just build a vacation home in Breckenridge, Colorado but after finding Captiva we decided that we love the warm weather and the beautiful beach more more than the cold. We quickly sold the mountain property and purchased our lovely Life's a Beach cottage located in the heart of the island. We have never regretted buying the cottage and love to spend as much time as possible in Captiva. This island is a wonderful place and the beaches and sunsets magnificent.
We are sure you will fall in love with Captiva and Life's a Beach too.

Captiva is the most beautiful tropical island in the US.
The one thing all our quests comment on is that they feel like they have left reality and stress behind and truly felt like living in paradise for a while. Leave all your worries on the mainland and enjoy our beautiful island and our relaxing cottage.
We had an absolutely wonderful holiday in Life's A Beach. Couldn't ask for a more relaxing and comfortable environment. Walk to absolutely everything. Gorgeous beach and nice people! We will definitely go back to Captiva and to this property in particular. It was perfect for our family with two mall kids. Thanks for everything!
A great little place within easy walking distance to all the attractions(beach, village store, restaurants). Great outdoor seating areas with plenty of shade. Inside is cozy if you have a lot of people but we made it work with no issues. We love the area and will be back again! A great family location with lots to do.
The Life's a Beach Cottage was absolutely perfect. It was exceptionally clean and made for a very comfortable stay. As with any beach rental, the umbrellas were a bit worse for the wear (we're going to break down and buy an Otentik sun shade - which we saw on the beach there in Captiva!) The televisions / sound could maybe be upgraded but, in a way, it was nice to not have the temptation to stay inside. (Can you tell I'm reaching for things to criticize? It was really wonderful). Our kids loved the hot tub (in the middle of July when it was like a million degrees out - go figure...) and we loved the location within easy walking distance to pretty much everything on the island. Loved it! Thank you!!!
I agree with all that has been said about this house. The outside spaces, both front and back, are wonderful with wooden decks, not just bare ground like many of the similar houses in the village. We had 2 adult couples which suited the house fine. I personally think that the inside living area would be a little tight for 6 unrelated adults, but the large outdoor spaces make up the difference.
It is one of the best equipped rental houses we have stayed in, with great beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and a beach wagon.
The mosquitos and noseeums were almost non-existant which was very surprising for a house with such beautiful lush vegetation. The hot tube was great.
We rented through the realty company without any contact with the owner...everything was as smooth as could be. The washer and dryer are outside under an overhang next to the house, but it is no problem.
Overall a great little house that I recommend wholeheartedly.
We loved Life's a Beach! We are a family of 6 plus a toddler and we were perfectly happy here. The property is very private and lushly planted with native trees and shrubs. We enjoyed the hot tub and the outdoor rooms as well as the cozy cottage. So easy to stroll down to the beach or ride bikes into town. Captiva is a wonderful get away and Life's a Beach is a lovely way to see it.
Perfect size Cottage for a group of couples. Absolutely beautiful outdoor space in both the front and back of the house. Very well maintained and scenically beautiful property. While enjoying our stay we grilled on the back deck and relaxed in the Jacuzzi. Seconds from the most gorgeous beach on the gulf and minutes from the center of the chilled out town. We all were thrilled with our choice and loved our stay!
