Welcome to Sleepy Creek Cabin...... If you are looking for a unique and rustic cabin in a beautiful mountain setting, you've found it! Private, yet convenient to all the High Country has to offer. Come and experience the charm of a “real' log cabin. This log cabin, made from the logs of two authentic 1800's log cabins (from Kentucky and West Virginia) were re-assembled and joined to make a very unique and comfortable vacation get away. This cabin is constructed of beautiful antique hand hewn poplar and oak logs, wonderful stonework, complete with a cedar shake roof. It is located on over 4 acres of wooded land with a native trout stream running past the cabin through the entire acreage. The interior features large rooms with (2) bedrooms and (2) bathrooms. Once you catch your breath, go have some fun! Boone is just a short drive away. Visit the wonderful downtown shops, catch one of the many concerts, plays or cultural events at Appalachian University. Make time to explore Blowing Rock , great shopping and really good 'eating' places. The kids would enjoy a trip to Tweetsie Railroad, local gem mines and Grandfather Mountain's Swinging Bridge and Natural Habitat Zoo. In the opposite direction towards W. Jefferson, grab your golf bag and head to Mountain Aire Golf Club and enjoy a 18 hole public course in a beautiful mountain setting. Make sure you visit Historic Todd, there you can rent inner-tubes, canoes and kayaks to float down the New River or sit back and enjoy music and story telling events held in the park during the summer. So, come and enjoy... go as fast or as slow as you want. There is always so much to experience close by in our lovely NC mountains.

  • 50% of gross rent (including taxes and security deposit ) due at time of booking with signed rental agreement. Balance of rent due 30 days prior to arrival.

    Winter Guests: Although we are not located on steep mtn. side, we do recommend 4wd and/or chains while visiting NC Mtns. during the winter months, as you may encounter snow or icy conditions during your stay. Please come prepared, as we do not refund rents due to inclement weather.

More About the Cabin:: The second bedroom encompasses the entire upstairs (one double and two single beds) with a cathedral ceiling and ceiling fans. The rustic but modern kitchen features all newer appliances, as well as a separate laundry room. A 2nd bathroom is located downstairs. But the best part is the covered front porch. Relax to the view of the very noisy creek and the many hummingbirds that frequent the cabin in the summer. Don't forget to enjoy a picnic by the creek - benches and picnic table provided. Sleepy Creek provides the perfect setting for your relaxation, comfort and enjoyment.

Area:: The cabin is conveniently located near Boone, Blowing Rock, West Jefferson, Historic Todd and the New River. Just up the road is access to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Wow, what a cabin! My parents, son and I couldn't have asked for more, especially for my dad's birthday. The cabin was very comfortable and clean but needed better reading light. We loved hiking in the woods and playing in the stream. I would recommend this cabin anytime.

Mountaintop Experience

This was our first family vacation with our two little ones (6 & 3) and what a great choice. I can't say enough about this beautiful little cabin on the creek. It was hard to leave the cabin to go out and about to do the many activities there are to do in the area. We started our days with coffee on the porch overlooking the creek and then 4-5 hours of playing in the creek or on the big manicured yard, then a hot bath and hot lunch and off to go fishing, or hiking or caving or gem mining (my son's favorite). The owners are like invisible hosts and it is evident that they are lovely people by the care they have taken with everything. A kitchen with every small appliance or pan that you could want, a laundry room, games, satellite TV and DSL access. It was everything we expected and more. The directions were perfect and it is easy to get to Boone (15 min) and the Blue Ridge Parkway (5 min). There is a nice grocery store just 10 mins away as well. We cannot wait to return for some winter fun.

A home away from home

The cabin is beautiful just like the pictures. We would recommend this cabin for sure. It was very clean and well maintained. Kathe, the owner, was very nice and called to check on us and make sure we knew how to work the heater because we were in for some cold weather! It had everything we needed in the kitchen, even a crockpot. We went caving one day and came back to home cooked chilli.(River and Earth Adventures in Boone was great for a real caving experience) The grocery store is about 10 minutes away and Boone and Blowing Rock are about 20-30 minutes away, so you are pretty close to everything. We didn't mind the drive. It was neat looking at all the Christmas tree farms!! Something you don't see in Florida! We would like to go back to this cabin in the summer months! I'm sure it would be great!

Girls getaway

My friend and I had the best rainy (12 In,) trip. We
hadn't seen each other for 15 years. The place is great.
Spotless! It takes about 20 minutes to get to town but we
didn't care. I'm already planning a trip with my husband
when it gets colder and we can take advantage of the fireplace. Very private. Large yard with a stream running through it, The wildflowers and hummingbirds made us feel
right at home. My friend who only eats organic food managed to force down a box of fudge we bought in Blowing Rock. If peace, tranquility and privacy are what you're looking for, this is it. The owners are so nice, I
came down with Bronchitis the first day and after helping me find a pharmacy and get medication, they called the
following night to make sure I was O.K. Great getaway!

It is a wonderful cabin to get away from everyday life and enjoy the peace and quiet.Our family loved the creek and it snowed while we were there and that is something 2 teenagers from MS have not seen a lot of.Kathe was wonderful to check on us to make sure that we were okay when the cold and snow moved into the area.100 % wonderful and we will be back.
