This home is directly on the beach overlooking the Gulf of Mexico about 20 minutes west of Gulf Shores on Fort Morgan Road. Step off the deck and you're on the soft white sand just feet from the water! 700 square feet of deck space for sunning, 800 square feet greatroom/dining/kitchen area with a fantastic view of the Gulf. Sleeps 10. We live in this house half the year so it's a Home, not just a rental unit.

Fish from the beach or charter a boat at the marina 2 miles down the road. Lots of golf in the area including Kiva Dunes and Peninsula courses within 15 minutes of the house. Scuba diving available in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Sailing and dolphin cruises available. Historic Fort Morgan is 3.5 miles down the road and bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge is nearby. Lots of dolphins to watch right from the deck or the beach. The Naval Aviation Museum is about 45 minutes away near Pensacola, FL.

Catch the ferry near the Fort and head over to Dauphin Island to visit SeaLab which is within walking distance of the ferry landing.

Sandy Hills is about 20 minutes west of the city of Gulf Shores where there are numerous restaurants. Shopping is available, there are amusement parks and a zoo that was featured on the Discovery Channel. Tanger Outlet Mall is located in Foley, only 30 - 40 minutes away.

Historic Fort Morgan is only 3.5 miles away. There is a zoo in town which was featured in a story on The Discovery Channel and Tanger Outlet Mall is 30 - 40 minutes away. There are a few restaurants near by and loads of them 'in town', 17 miles away.

We are from Topeka, Kansas. We spent a week in this home with our 3 children, my sister and her husband and their 2 children. There was plenty of room for everyone's comfort. This is a lovely home directly on the beautiful beach in Fort Morgan, Alabama. It is very spacious and easily sleeps 10 people. The kitchen is great with a large cooking bar and every utensil you might possibly need. You can cook dinner with a lovely full view of the gulf. I loved the area under the home. There is a warm enclosed shower and a hose with warm water to wash off sand. There is a very nice deck with a picnic table and nice walk way out to the beach. It seems very private, even though you are in the middle of other homes. Our favorite activities were a dolphin cruise we took one evening and long walks on the beach after dark. This is a fantastic, relaxing family vacation and we were very sad to have to leave. We can't wait to go back again! The Andersons

My family had a wonderful time at "Sandy Hills" in Fort Morgan, Alabama, June, 2008. This house is so much more than a "beachfront rental"! It is a sunny, clean and inviting home to be savored for a week of relaxation and fun. The beach is beautiful and the open porches offer a magnificient view for miles. The home is comfortable and furnished in a manner which allows one to truly feel at home. There are all manner of appliances, cookware, dishes, etc. with which to prepare meals and plenty of room to serve everyone in the house without having to "sit" in shifts. The air-conditioning worked perfectly, as did all the electrical items. A large-capacity washer and dryer made it easy to keep towels, swimsuits, etc. clean. Everything was as advertised and then some. There is plenty to do in the area and lots of casual or upscale dining restaurants nearby. The only thing we missed was being able to park our car under the house and out of the sun. I would certainly recommend "Sandy Hills" to friends, but I am hoping we will be able to return next year and surely don't want any of them to take our week! Thanks to the owners for sharing their beautiful home with us. Best wishes!

P.S.: We were really impressed with the owners' project of restoration of the sea oats and the sand dunes on the beach. Kudos for being eco-minded!
