The perfect place for all your Maine coast vacation activities: a beautiful and spacious, waterfront home situated amidst the trees on the Western shore of the Penobscot at the top of the Bay, just above Sandy Point beach. This home includes 3 comfortable downstairs bedrooms and a 4th roomy loft-bedroom, 2 BA, fully equipped eat-in kitchen (all cookware, flatware, & dishes recently upgraded), beautiful living room with cathedral ceilings and woodstove. Double atrium doors lead from the living room to a large private deck overlooking the Penobscot, comfortable patio furniture and modern grill, perfect for cookouts. Cozy deck at water's edge for reading, relaxing. We supply all paper products, laundry detergent (2 washers/dryers in basement for mid-vacation laundry). Just bring your personal items and groceries! Beds: 1 king, 1 queen, 4 twins (sleeps up to 8).

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this waterfront charmer. The home was comfortable, clean and well equipped. The attention to detail, incredible views, and wide open spaces made this a perfect get away. And, with Acadia National Park and the Lobster Pound in such close proximity it made our vacation complete. We will definately be return visitors and highly recommend The River House to anyone.
