Apartment, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 3-5)

Located in Chessels Court, this spacious and comfortable mansion apartment is steeped in history. Built in 1760 by Archibald Chessil and now Grade A listed, this Georgian flat has many fine period features including unique decorative plasterwork and cornicing. With a chequered past, it has been at times a refuge for policemen and the playroom for the next door nursery. The mansion block has many associations, from James Boswell and Deacon Brodie to the colourful Bloody Mary’s Close!

Situated in the heart of the Old Town, Edinburgh’s renowned centre, it is a perfect location from which to explore all the city has to offer. Only a short walk to both Holyrood Palace and Edinburgh Castle and within easy walking distance of the main train station and the express bus to the airport.

The Royal Mile contains an excellent range of small specialist shops, grocers and a wealth of traditional and modern bars, bistros and restaurants, all within easy reach of the property.

The ground floor flat comprises: main door to curved entrance hall, large and sunny lounge/dining room, modern breakfasting kitchen, large double bedroom with en suite shower room, large double bedroom plus extra single bed, separate bathroom with over bath shower. The rates include hot water, electricity, central heating, towels, linen and taxes.

Outstanding, Charming, and Located Perfectly

We were so pleased with our flat ... it met every expectation. The large living area is a lovely place to gather, yet the bedrooms are separated which makes the flat perfect for two couples. The location in a close off the Royal Mile is ideal for sightseeing. There's a bus stop quite close, and many places to eat/drink. Katie was most helpful. The close is even on a 'hidden gardens of the Royal Mile' tour ... and they are a delight to the eye. Spacious, charming, clean, well supplied, and lots of extras ... this is a highly recommended abode to enjoy in Edinburgh.

We selected this location because it was convenient and appeared to meet our needs. We would stay here again because it was WONDERFUL! The apartment was extremely comfortable and cozy and the owner was very helpful getting us settled. The pictures don't convey how big the rooms are in the apartment. Thank you!

lovely flat, great location

We came for the Fringe festival in late August and had a great week using this beautiful apartment as our base. As we cooked most of our meals, we especially appreciated the well stocked kitchen. We plan to return.
