Eclectic, reclusive, residence on the ocean only rented out a few times a year, surfers paradise, museum quality surfing memorabilia, on 1 1/2 acres , very cute town of Ponce Inlet, large master with large 1890's king, loft with queen over looks window to ocean, back room with two single beds, has a really nice couch if needed.
This is a very private home, no smokers, this is not a home for large blast out beach's parties, it's an intimate setting for a couple, small family, small children-looking to relax and experience what Florida beach houses used to be like.
A classic Florida beach haven , known as ' Ebb Tide' approx 1750 square feet with a super huge deck overlooking the ocean. Very unique, clean, 2.8 miles from the inlet to the south and 2.8 miles to Sun Glow pier north.
If you rent once you'll be back. washer dryer, cable TV, wi-fi-DSL, walk to North Turn restaurant and 7-11. Very clean. You'l be expected to leave it the way you found it. It has exceeded expecations, no pets, no smoking- very very cool house-

I found this house while searching for the perfect beach 25 years ago with my girlfriend who now is my wife ( Leslie) 'Ebb Tide' was built in 1967 by a very wealthy lady from Chattanooga who just wanted peace and quiet and escape from her life- It's our home now, we occasional spend a lot of time traveling and away so now after 24 years of ownership we are opening it up just a little. We have two small children ( 9&10), we're surfers so all our surfing / paddling lives are imprinted all over the house. It's a very romantic house and as the former owner told me when I purchased it - it comes alive after midnight!@! It's a cool house one of kind.
Michael OShaughnessy purchased this chalet in 1990
Ponce Inlet is Florida best kept secret even if its started to be developed in the late 90's. There's a reason racing was started here, the beaches are very very wide and non driving. Ponce Inlet is a sweet little town, last one leaving New Symrna Beach please turn off the lights- we are a no drive beach, meaning no cars and pure relaxation Seriously Once you go to Ponce Inlet you'l be back- ' where the ocean meets the river' sweet little town, theres a cool old light house, a turtle hospital, neat inlet you can walk out on, no drive beachs, great surf . Stop off at my ice cream shop Ho daddy O's or attend my surf and sport camp during the summer months. One of the east coasts best surf is right down at the inlet- out back isn't too bad either , especially on south swell!
quiet, quiet, quiet , surf , surf , surf, sleep , sleep , sleep there's stuff to do around town but who wants to leave?? Light House is always fun, Turtle Hospital at Inlet is cool, walking the Inlet is always our fav- sun sets on river w/a fish sandwich and beer can't be beat- Must stop and see Ho Daddy O's SURF CREAM!!! that's my shop. Walk to Ponce Preserve from my house, very very cool! This is a perfect old style Florida beach house and experience. The sport of paddle boarding started right out in back of my house in the mid 90's- look it up in Wikipedia
We just returned from two weeks at Ebb Tide and enjoyed our stay very much. It has a very quirky feeling and, as others have written, is very comfortable and peaceful. The first week was just my husband and I - we thoroughly enjoyed the privacy and the beautiful views. Our son, daughter-in-law and two small grandsons joined us for the second week and they had a blast as well. Although the area was experiencing unusually cold weather (37 degrees at times), it was still wonderful to sit on the couch and enjoy the view.
My husband and I wanted to escape northern ice and snow. Ebb Tide was a perfect getaway. Everything you need (and more) is there. Communication with the owner was excellent. Owner was available if we needed anything from directions, suggestions of places to eat, what to do.. he was terrific. Excellent customer service. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. Ebb Tide is not your usual rental. The decor is delightfully eclectic. Every wall tells a story. It's an absolutely charming and comfortable place to just hang out. The house is very clean and has a well-equipped kitchen. The deck off the back is serene - a perfect place to have morning coffee and enjoy the beautiful ocean scene in front of you. Location is good for day trips (Kennedy Space Center, DisneyWorld, Blue Springs State Park for manatees, historic St Augustine, etc.) We had a wonderfully relaxing retreat at Ebb Tide. Didn't want to leave and can't wait to return!
Our family of 5 was here in the Fall. Ebb Tide was like an old friend. And the walls do talk. There is memorabilia to read and view on the walls. The house tells you a sweet story of life, love and family. This house wraps you in a blanket of sand, sea and sunshine. There were plenty of beach toys and books the owner shared. The deck overlooking the dunes and ocean was our favorite place to eat and hang. We all enjoy cooking and the 'kitch' invited us in. It had everything we needed to cook and bake. If you enjoy history, the Lighthouse Museum is not but a few miles away. Bottom line, we can't wait to visit again. We miss you Ebb Tide.
The PERFECT beach house! It could not be any cuter- or comfy for our family! Everything we needed was right there. From toys/boards for the beach, everything we needed to bake or grill out, plenty of beds, etc. We didn't want to leave! It was like a house/museum in one- the walls tell a wonderful story. You won't be disappointed. Not only did my kids get to learn how to surf, build plenty of sand castles, and enjoy the sweet critters outside, we came home with shells from the beach, lovely memories, and new facts about marine life, history of the light house, etc. Oh, and my husband loved the fishing behind the house. Thanks for the great recommendations about eating out, day trips, etc. Your family was super sweet to respond to all of my questions so quickly. We couldn't imagine a more fun vacation!
This place was even better than the reviews. And they were all 5 stars!! We stayed for the last week in August--and we had a FANTASTIC time. This property is directly on the beach. What a great view from every room. Even the streetside of the home was quaint and private! WE HAD PERFECT WEATHER. Made to Order! We had a small issue when we first arrived with the a/c and the owner took care of it within the hour!!! Thanks Michael! We would love to come back next year in the Fall. This house is a very special place!! And very, very CLEAN!! LOVED IT----
This was without a doubt one of our best vacations ever. The house was exactly as pictured which was right up our alley since everyone in the family loves to surf. The house had everything we needed, fully equipped, even with a great grill. We spent several days on the beach, cooking out and never leaving the property. There are plenty of great restaurants right in Ponce Inlet on the water so you don't have to travel far to eat out if need be. Also a great ice cream place!!!
The setting is perfect, right in the dunes and a short walk right to the ocean. Each night we were able to enjoy the large deck area, listen to music on a great sounds system and not feel as if we were bothering anyone. Definitely felt like we were in the tropics with the views.
By the end of our vacation no one wanted to leave.
We're looking forward to coming back next year. This is without a doubt our new favorite destination vacation.
