We couldn't have been more pleased with our accommodations. The owners made it their mission to make sure we had everything we needed, including toys on hand for our children to enjoy during our stay. They even quickly attended to an AC issue before we even knew about the problem. The house was well appointed and very comfortable. It felt like home away from home. The open format gave our family of 6 plenty of room and then some. We spent much of our evenings on the large screened in porch and porch swing. The house is an easy walk to the beach. We love Sullivans Island. When we return, we'll choose this house every time.
We have relatives in Charleston and often stay on Sullivan's Island when we visit. With all the city has to offer (restaurants, night life, historical sites, museums, shopping, baseball), outdoor recreation (water skiing, boating, fishing etc.), and a house on the beach, you can't beat Charleston and Sullivan's Island for a family vacation. Of all the houses we have rented over the years, this house is by far our favorite. The house is charming and comfortable, with an ocean view, and a short walk to the beach. It is perfect for large family dinners with the extended family, and there is even a room for the teenagers to go play video games and listen to music when they don't feel like watching the movies that their parents have chosen! We no longer have young children, but I wish we had found this house years ago, when we did! When the owners met us at check-in time, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We love waking up and going to sleep to the sound of the ocean, and spent many hours lounging at the beach and playing in the surf. A great vacation. We hope to stay there again the next time we visit.
Our house is located right at the corner of station 26 and Bayonne St. Even though the house is not technically a 'front row' house, its pretty darn close to it. The house is angled out to give views of the ocean/beach, and because of the corner location, it has a 'front beach' feel to it. There is a great wooden walkway down to the beach which starts just steps from our house. We're certain you'll love it. (address: 2602 Bayonne St.)
