A unique period cottage situated next to one of four private beaches with panoramic views of the open ocean. A relaxing vacation awaits you in this five bedroom cottage with vaulted ceilings . . . the perfect setting for a fun filled family vacation. This cottage is located in the private ocean side community of Indian Point. As guests you will enjoy access to four private beaches, nature trails along the marshes, tidal sand flats, miles of beautiful rocks with spectacular views and a boat launch on a sheltered bay as well as use of a mooring. From the glassed in porch and dining area you can enjoy watching the surf, waterfowl, sail boats and working lobster boats. At night, you will be relaxed by the sound of the waves, the smell of the ocean air and the moonlight reflecting on the water. For those who enjoy fishing, one of the favorite spots for the local charter boats awaits you from the rocks in the front of this cottage.

This five bedroom cottage with 1.5 bathrooms will accommodate up to 10 people. There is a queen size bed in the first floor bedroom. The second floor has four bedrooms, two with double beds, one with twin beds and the fourth has a single bed. There is also a day bed on the front porch. There are two bathrooms, one has a toilet, vanity and tub while the other has a vanity and shower. It has a fully equipped kitchen as well as a lobster pot and a clam 'hod' for those who prefer to dig their own clams.

For those who want to explore other parts of Georgetown, take a 10 minute drive to the beautiful beaches and sand dunes at Reid State Park or the quaint fishing village at Five Islands. On the wharf at Five Islands enjoy a delicious shore dinner of lobsters and clams while watching the boats go in and out of the harbor. On the island of Georgetown (connected by a bridge) you will find a country store, two restaurants, marina and a farm stand with fresh local produce, cheeses, wines and much more.

A twenty minute drive up Route 127 is the historic City of Bath with its rich maritime history, several old sea captain homes and a quaint front street recently selected as one of the top 10 in the country. While in Bath visit Maine Maritime Museum as well as many stores, wonderful shops and restaurants. A 40 minute drive from this unique cottage is the outlet shopping in Freeport home of LL Bean's flagship store. Antiquing is available 30 minutes away along Route 1 in Wiscasset. For day trips, you will want to do some sightseeing in Boothbay Harbor, Damariscotta and the Old Port District of Portland . . . all one hour away.

Indian Point lies at the very southern end of Georgetown Island on a peninsula with beautiful private sand beaches, nature preserve, tidal rivers and marshes, tide pools, and miles of exquisite colorful rocky coast.

Should you venture beyond Indian Point, you can drive to Boothbay Harbor for a windjammer cruise, a tour of the botanical garden, or shopping the boutiques. For a shopping adventure, check out LLBean and the outlets in Freeport, which is 40 minutes away. An hour away, you can sample the cuisines of historic Old Port in Portland.

Closer by, visit the famous Maine Maritime Museum next to the shipyard, attend a concert or music theatre, enjoy the scenic train to the Farnsworth in Rockland, charter a fishing boat, or visit dozens of studios, galleries and antique shops.

Right here on Georgetown Island buy lobster off the boat at the wharf in Five Islands, watch artisans at Georgetown Pottery, explore the beaches of Reid State Park, or enjoy meals from pizza to lobster or even superb dining. Bath is just a 20 minutes drive and Brunswick 30 minutes for any major shopping needs.

Wonderful multi-generational family getaway. Beautiful history filled home with amazing views. Enjoyed every second of our stay from coffee at sunrise, playing on the beach, to sunset over the water. Rave reviews from kids to grandparents. We have already booked again for next year.

From your first sight of the horizon as you turn down the driveway, to enjoying each sunrise with your morning coffee on the porch overlooking the ocean, a stay at Indian Point will bring you peace and rejuvenate your soul. The views are spectacular. Great beach just steps away. A nature hike along the rocks allows a glimpse into the molding force of the New England weather. The house is roomy with lots of windows to bring the outside in.
Will definitely return again!

This is a lovely old time cottage, and is the perfect getaway for couples or a family. The views are breathtaking, the ambiance warm, and the ammentities up to date. We absolutely loved it, and will be back!
