Destin Vacation Rental cottage

We've never been to Destin, didn't know the area, didn't know the beach. Oh what a wonderful surprise. This house is located in a quiet circular cul-de-sac yet is only 3 minutes drive from shopping and fine dining (ie Bone Fish Grill/Outback Steakhouse) and only 4 minutes walk from the beach. The neighborhood isn't all vacation homes and has a nice private pool only 4 houses away.

The house was just as advertised. A good size with a nice layout. Located in a shaded private well maintained garden the house offers a wraparound porch with gas grill and a screened in porch with fan. There is a nice deck off the master and the third floor is a crow’s nest patio with views of the neighborhood, Destin and beach area (can't see the sea though).

Downstairs is open plan with kitchen/living and dining area all together. Two bedrooms down are a king and a twin with pull out. Both have cable. The suite upstairs is large, bright with a great bathroom (jetted tub large walk in shower)

The main reason to come, the beach is superb. The sand is like powdered sugar (although with less calories) and the sea is a Caribbean azure blue and so clean and clear. We went down with grandparents and two kids, 4 and 7. All found tons to do. Couldn't pry the children from the beach most of the time and parents loved being able to walk to the shops or explore the huge outlet fashion mall only 10 minutes drive away. We did visit the busy area of Destin (about 10 minutes drive to the west) and enjoyed the harbor, but loved the fact we were in a much less crowded and quiet place. We also visited Panama beach and couldn't wait to leave it!!
