The master bedroom has a king-size bed, private bath, and its own private sun/moon deck. When you arrive at our private, exquisite community of Sunset Captiva, you will find our home (#39) centrally located and within a few minutes walk to the pristine, private beach, a heated swimming pool, tennis courts, and private boat dock. Stroll over to Captiva Village where you will discover the island general store, wonderful restaurants, sports equipment rentals, and local shops. Spectacular sunsets, world renowned shelling, and casual island lifestyle will make Captiva your tropical vacation paradise.
House description: Our home has recently been renovated to include ceramic tile, new carpeting. bedding, furniture and a completely redesigned kitchen with new appliances. On the first floor, you will enjoy lounging in the great room decorated with island-style furnishings and an entertainment etagere with a TV, DVD player, and DVD movies. The dining area, furnished with a glass-top table and wicker chairs, seats six guests. For informal eating, the kitchen island seats four, where you can prepare and serve meals. The sliding glass doors off the great room lead to a large screened-in lanai, where you can enjoy an early morning breakfast on the wrought-iron table and chairs or just sit and relax in the lounge chairs. A first floor bedroom is privately located down the hall and accommodates two guests in twin-sized beds with an adjacent full bathroom with two sinks and a tub/shower. A laundry area, equipped with a washer and dryer, is provided for our guests, as well as wireless high speed internet.
The upper level includes a large master bedroom with a king-sized bed, a connecting full bathroom with tub/shower, a loft, and walk-out deck. The private deck, accessed off the master bedroom, is ideal for sunning during the day and enjoying the clear, starry skies at night. If you look up to the tall tree on your right, you can often observe busy ospreys nesting. A spacious loft with a comfortable, queen-sized futon and an entertainment center with TV/VCR/DVD player, provides an area for relaxing, reading and additional sleeping space. From our home, it is a short 5-minute walk to the community heated pool, tennis courts, BBQ grills, picnic tables and the beach. The island library is located near the boardwalk and offers high-speed Internet access and the latest newspapers and books.
Surrounding area: A boardwalk from the pool leads to the expansive sandy beach, where world-famous shelling can be found. Surf fishing is popular and the slope of the beach allows safe and easy swimming in the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Take a moment to observe the dolphins, as they surface close to the shore. To experience the bayside of Captiva, walk across the street to our community's private marina, where you can fish or just enjoy spectacular sunrises. There are guest slips available for visitors' boats. If you wish to explore the bay or paddle through mangroves - kayaks, pontoon, and fishing boats are available for rent. A boat taxi service to nearby islands, charter deep-sea fishing, para sailing, jetski and bike rentals, are also available. A short walk from our house is the historic Captiva district where you will find restaurants rich with island charm and fare, boutiques, galleries, and a small island-style grocery store.
