Come enjoy some restful days in this riverside log cabin in an idyllic mountain setting!

Ashe River Cabin is located directly on the scenic New River, with a level front yard perfect for playing croquet, frisbee, or sitting by the camp fire. With a convenient location, only 10-15 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and West Jefferson, guests have the opportunity to see the beauty that North Carolina has to offer; whether it is to visit a local town or have a picnic on the Parkway. Our cabin rests on a 2-acre property and has an open setting with views of the local mountains, Christmas tree farms, and is amazingly private. Direct river-front access, as well as access to the Yellowknife Ranch next door, allows guests to pass the days drifting on the river and spend quality time out of doors. It's location halfway between the New River State Parks at Wagoner and US221 make it perfect for kayak and canoe trips.

Amenities of this retreat include a main level master with a king size bed, TV, and large closet. Upstairs includes two more bedrooms and one bath. One upstairs bedroom has a full size bed and TV, the other has twin beds, perfect for kids. The main floor includes a comfortable living room, perfect for watching a movie, playing one of our board games, or reading a book in front of the gas fireplace. The fully stocked and modern kitchen flows into the living/dining area. Our dining room table is made from reclaimed barn wood and sits in front of full windows, which give guests a great view to enjoy a relaxing meal with family or friends. Outside, the large wrap around covered/ open porch and back patio are ideal spots to have your morning coffee or spend a quiet evening after a day of adventure.

Ashe River Cabin is constructed of authentic antique logs and reclaimed materials that have been brought back to life; combined with modern amenities like stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. Indoor comforts and outdoor appeal give guests the best of old and new. Come experience the idyllic beauty of the river and the mountains in this rustic retreat!

Our names are Connie and Eric and we are from Winston-Salem, NC. Our family has been enjoying nearby Ashe County and the New River for many years.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2009

This is our second cabin in Ashe County. This is a beautiful area and we designed and built this cabin to be family friendly and to enjoy the surrounding area.

We love this property because of the direct access to the river for kayaking and fishing. It has a large flat yard and easy access year round!

Hi Connie,
Wow! What a great weekend! Your cabin is the most homey, livable combination of 'solid old' and 'modern, reliable new' I've ever seen. We were at peace there. We most assuredly plan to return for a long weekend, perhaps as early as this Fall. Every aspect of this trip, from the ease of booking and payment, your prompt return emails and clear instructions were first class. We look forward to returning! Best regards.

Thank you so much for sharing your cabin with us! Despite the rain, we had such a relaxing time. We just enjoyed time with each other playing Scrabble, Checkers, and doing puzzles.

What a blessing it has been to sit on the porch and chat as we viewed God's glorious creation!

We hope to return and will tell all of our friends about it!

Relaxing Mountain Retreat

This was our family's 1st cabin rental. We usually stay at hotels. We didn't know what we were missing! Having this beautiful, comfortable cabin all to ourselves, made this one of our BEST vacations ever! Of course our favorite part was the river where we spent alot of time floating on tubes and rafts! The seclusion we felt being on such a large property added to the feeling of "getting away from it all". The beds could not have been more comfortable. In fact, we purchased the same brand of mattress for our master bedroom and each of our 2 girls. This cabin is very well maintained and has all of the conveniences of home. The owners were very gracious and helpful in planning our stay! Have told many friends and family about this great vacation! Thanks Again!

Wonderful Week at Ashe River Cabin

Eric and Connie, We have rented cabins in N. Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia over the past decade or more. Yours is probably our favorite place we've stayed. The cabin couldn't be in a more tranquil and picturesque setting, looking out on the river with the hill side farms in the background. I woke up, had my coffee on the porch and read every morning. My son and I fished in the river, as well as at a lake 5 mins drive away. We made a fire in the fire pit and looked at the stars. We took walks and bike rides there right from the cabin. Inside you've decorated wonderfully beautifully and it was a relaxing and great place for our family to stay. From the cabin, we went in to town often, to Jefferson, West Jefferson and one day down to Boone. There were good restaurants and shops in the West Jefferson downtown. It was a great time away for us, and we hope to be back!
