Beautiful views of the Maine coast from the front porch. The cottage faces Fort Popham and is located where the Kennebec River meets the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy gorgeous sunsets from the screen-in porch. Peace and solitude can be found here or enjoy the sunshine at the small beach within a short walking distance. Nearby is Reid State Park with large sandy beaches and walking trails and Five Islands Wharf. Shopping and activities are available in the nearby towns of Bath, Boothbay, and Freeport.

Best vacation Since Disney

We have been camping in the mountains in Vermont for the last 7 summers. We decided that this year we wanted to see the Ocean. We have 2 dogs so it was hard to find a place to stay that was in our price range. I'm not even sure how I found this cottage but am SO GLAD I did. This was the best vacation since Disney! The house was just as I imagined it would be. I talked to Margaret about 1 month before we traveled to Maine, the way she described the place was exactly the way it was when we got there. We are from Western NY so it took us about 9 hours to get there. It was worth it. The house was clean, well maintained, had everything we needed! It was great the first night we had Lobster and my husband opened the Lobster pot and out fell the directions! The area around Georgetown has some of the prettiest sites. It was hard to leave and come home. The house had more than enough room for my husband and I and our 2 grown sons and the dogs. We are looking forward to planning our next trip next summer. One suggestion I would have for Mike and Margaret is to clear the land in front of the porch so that part of the yard can be used.

Charming getaway with a fabulous view

I have been to this cottage several times and feel right at home. The accomodations are quite good and one feels the connection to life at oceanside. The porch is a huge plus anytime of the day. We especially loved it in the morning smelling the ocean, watching the tide and the sea birds. Local walks are full of surprises. Blueberries abound in the area in season. A perfect getaway full of great memories. Many places to see in a day's trip in the region. Lots of fine arts and crafts in the area also.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
