Wake to gorgeous views of crystal blue waters through the two story windows. Spend your day relaxing on the sprawling deck, playing in the sand and swimming in the Bay. At days end watch the sunset while you roast marshmallows around a campfire.

This log home truly does have it all. A large rec room is equipped with a bumper pool/card table, two sofas, a stereo system and cable tv. The master suite opens to an enclosed sunporch. The open floor plan includes a three sided gas fireplace for chilly evenings or rainy days. The upstairs loft is a great place to get away from the group and lose yourself in a good book.

Located just 5 minutes from Elk Rapids, 5 minutes from the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, and 15 minutes to Traverse City. This cottage is the perfect home base for the Traverse City Film Festival, the International Cherry Festival, Elk Rapids Harbor Days, Horse Shows By the Bay, or just a week away from the chaotic hustle and bustle of home.

The Best Beach on the Bay!

I have been going on vacation to this area for many years and this is my favorite location. I have stayed at the smaller cabins on the same beach but first time in the big log house. Great house!! Room for large family but great place for a couple's getaway. The big porch overlooking the bay is where we spent most of our time however kitchen, bathrooms, and living areas are great. The upstairs has a balcony on the bay and room for many to sleep. The rooms are separated by sliding doors do there can be privacy or just one big area. Upstairs has 2 queens, 2 twins and a sofa bed; master bedroom on 1st floor with bay view has a king bed and private bathroom. The house is done tastefully. There even is a sofabed in the family room. Well maintained.
There actually is a beach with plenty of room. Location is close enough to go for Wine Country Tours too!
I will be back this year - just finding dates!! Thanks!!!

Best of the Bay!!!

We had the best vacation!!! Log home is located between Traverse and Elk Rapids and has charm plus. It sleeps a lot of people - Downstairs bedroom with bath ( king bed), family room with queen sleeper and upstairs with queen sofa bed and 2 rooms, one with 2 queen beds and one with 2 twin beds. There is plenty of space for all!!! Log kitchen is adorable with new appliances and well stocked. Home is furnished nicely. The view from kitchen/living room/ master bedroom is awesome - the best of the bay! Porch is length of house. The beach is breathtaking - great sunsets! It was perfect for our family and will definitely be back - trying to get dates together!!! My whole family thanks you!!!

Your house was a great place for our six grandchildren, ages 9-2, because we didn't have to worry too much with the wide open beach.

Great East Bay view!!

We spent a week at this home with 6 children and 6 adults. I think I need to explain that the property has a master bedroom with a bath (1 BR) and the other 3 BR consists of the loft. They are not bedrooms, but one loft that can be seperated by pocket doors. The cottage can sleep a lot of people but be advised that only the master bedroom will offer you any privacy. I should also mention that the home does not have air conditioning and the loft is very warm to sleep in. Loft consists of two twin beds, two full beds and a fold out couch. Bumper pool table is virtually unplayable. It is not level and many of the bumpers are stripped out. Beach is very nice and water shoes are recommended as it is very rocky once in the water. Bonfires consist of a portable firepit. The tv in rec room is equipped with very basic cable (no espn, cnn or other staples). Three sided fireplace has a sign on it saying it does not work. Picnic table is rotten and unsafe to sit on one side. Cupboard needs to be stocked with enough glassware and serving utensils for the large group advertised. Gas grill seemed to be new and worked great.
We did enjoy our stay here as the cottage does have some charm and we found the area to be very enjoyable. There is also an abundance of petoskey stones to be found. We were able to watch the fireworks and the Blue Angels from the deck.
