The large interconnected ponds are separated from the open ocean by a reef and are always calm even when the sea beyond the reef is wild.
Accommodations: Warm Springs Guest House has a King sized bed in the master bedroom on the 2nd floor, 2 singles in one downstairs bedroom, and a single in the other downstairs bedroom. There are 2 full baths: 1 on the first floor and another adjoining the master bedroom on the 2nd floor.
Amenities: There is a table with folding umbrella on the dock and a picnic table on the kitchen lanai. The kitchen is fully equipped including, granite counter tops, refrigerator-freezer, microwave oven, Jenn-Air radiant electric cooktop, coffee maker, coffee grinder, blender, a wide assortment of pots and pans, and an outdoor charcoal barbecue. There is a Wifi computer connection (see amenities) phone, satellite TV, DVD-CD player, and an AM-FM radio.
Linens including beach towels, all household supplies. A washer and dryer are also provided.
Activities: Swimming, snorkeling, skin diving, surfing, and a large public hot pond are all available nearby. Walking and bicycling around Kapoho are safe and pleasant. There are farmer's markets in Pahoa, on the road to Hilo, and in Hilo Town. Lava viewing is often possible from Kalapana (about 10 mi. from Kapoho) or in the National Park (depending on where the lava flows happen to be located at the time) and Volcanoes National Park has many hiking trails in both rain forest and desert environments. Sightseeing possibilities are nearly unlimited.
