We are not in Carpentaria, Goleta, Summerland or Montecito. We are also not in the suburbs of Santa Barbara such as San Roque, Mission Canyon, Los Positas etc.
We are in the coveted Historic West Beach area, steps from the beach, Las Banos Public Pool, Stearns Wharf, Harbor, world-class dining, and downtown shops, including our own local farmers market. We are not next to the railroad tracks, highway or on a commercial thoroughfare.

The Beach Penthouse resides in a historical turn of the century building and retains the charm of the day’s bygone. It has been lovingly restored to reflect Santa Barbara's style including hand cast plaster, 10 feet vaulted ceilings and Waterford fireplace giving it both a romantic and European feeling.
The large and private terrace has mountain views, along with dining table and chairs, chaise lounges and stainless steel BBQ to enjoy the local favorites.
The fully equipped kitchen was designed with high quality construction, including granite countertops, limestone flooring and custom cabinets from our own local cabinet makers and are complimented with high end appliances: Sub-Zero refrigerator, Espresso Machine, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave and washer and dryer.
The living room has mountain and City sky line views along with queen size pull out couch, 42” TV, DVD, CD and stereo.
The bedroom offers a queen bed and across the hall is the accompanying full bathroom that offers a romantic limestone shower with dual head shower, limestone floors, granite counter tops and custom Santa Barbara style cabinets.
When you book with us, you are booking with the owners, which means you are not dealing with a management company, or a 3rd party call center, or a computerized mobile application. Often times the 3rd party does not live in town or even know the property. We know our properties intimately, as we both own and manage them, and have a 15 year track record. Upon booking, directions are emailed along with our contact information, Restaurant Recommendations, Winery and Activities Recommendations and Welcome Notes providing detailed information about the Penthouse are also provided. In this way, you can drive right to the Penthouse, which has a lock box where you’ll use your unique code to enter. There is no need to set up an appointment. Inside, you'll enjoy premium amenities: shampoo, soaps, paper & cleaning products and 5 star quality towels, linens and cleaniness.
And we offer complimentary champagne upon your arrival.

There are so many Santa Barbara properties available for rent. The number one difference between all of them are location, location, location. The closer to the beach and the closer to Santa Barbara the more expensive the real estate. We are 2 blocks to the beach and downtown, not on a commercial thorough fare, not next to the highway or railroad track and not a bus ride or car ride away from downtown. We combine our location with the best pricing and the best amenities. Finally, we are immaculately clean.
This was our third stay at this property overall and 2nd in the Beach Penthouse. We enjoyed it even more this time than the first! Best location in the city, walking distance to nearly everything, and the apartment amenities are high end and many. We used the kitchen extensively and thoroughly enjoyed lounging on the terrace with a glass of wine. Melanie and Todd are extremely easy to deal with. We will be back soon!
The attention to detail in this until is obvious. Great kitchen and they even had a latte machine like I have at home. The location is great if you want to be close to the pier, the beach and even downtown. The whole building is lovely and the this unit is very comfortable. The unit downstairs had a leak so there was some construction noise for a few days but the owners were diligent about trying to alleviate our discomfort. I can definitely recommend staying here.
Small but lovely penthouse apartment with a private terrace. We love the west beach area as it's so convenient for walking everywhere.. the waterfront, beach, stearns wharf and State Street. Many restaurants are within a 15-20 min walk. We drove down from Vancouver and parked the car - didn't drive anywhere for four days. The apartment is nicely furnished and equipped in a quiet building in a quiet neighbourhood. Melanie and Rob are very friendly and accommodating and were very understanding when we had a bank hiccup re. payment. We completely recommend the place and will be back again next year!
I stayed in this lovely one bedroom penthouse apartment for two weeks in late Summer. The location is perfect--two blocks from the ocean and harbor and an easy walk to State Street with its wonderful restaurants and shops. The apartment is very well equipped and the patio area was delightful. Melanie and Todd were quick to answer any questions. I would recommend this property.
The kitchen was really nice, and well equipped. We appreciated the extra appliances we don't always find in rentals.
The Penthouse was very clean, and again, it's something we look for when we have a home away from home.
The location could not be better. We're now considering a train trip to Santa Barbara, as it's just a short walk to the depot. If we could only have a Starbucks a bit closer, that would be a bonus. We enjoyed the Farmer's Market.
The patio was very nice and appealing in the evening, as the days we were there were warm enough to enjoy being outside. And the plants on the deck made it look very welcome. We loved having the washer and dryer available. Thanks for supplying the detergent.
Finally, the double headed shower was fantastic. I wish we had one like that at home here. The bed was very comfortable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Beach Penthouse. Location was perfect - ideal for walking to the Beach & Sea, the Wharf and Yacht Club area where we found our favourite restaurants. The apartment was well equipped with a great Sun Terrace. We love Santa Barbara and hope to come back soon.
