“The Perch”, as the house is fondly called, is perfectly located (one block from the beach, a half block to the tennis court and three blocks from town) in order to take advantage of Bolinas' free and easy atmosphere. The house has stunning, unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean, along the rugged Marin County coastline to San Francisco. The master bedroom is located on the same floor as the living/dining room and kitchen. Downstairs (note: no internal staircase) there are two bedrooms-each with its own bathroom. There are two twin beds in one downstairs bedroom and one twin and one queen in the other.
Bolinas is a small beach town twenty-nine miles from San Francisco and across the lagoon from the better-known Stinson Beach. It is not known for five star spas, nor for its high-end concierge services or its other celebrity amenities, but what you will find are friendly and eclectic locals (as long as you remember to wave and say hi), a wonderful organic market and great swimming and surfing. Charming, rustic and quiet with a DYI ethos, Bolinas is the perfect weekend getaway for the independent adventurous traveler, great for families or a romantic escape.
There are many local amenities (tennis anyone?) and there is no need to ever get into your car once you arrive. However, Just a short drive away there is Agate beach with wonderful tidepools. Bolinas is surrounded by the Pt. Reyes National Seashore , a National park with hundred of miles of hiking trails, or, you can lay on the deck with a cocktail and watch the sunrise, or moonrise over the hills and the Pacific Ocean.
