SKI BEECH is the quaintest most wonderful ski town in the South East US. Everyone comes here. the house is 5 minutes from the parking lot of the sloop.

SUMMER we are the QUIET relaxing quaint Beech Mountain, 5,500 feet above sea level, and the tallest incorporated town in the eastern US, and a desired destination for weekly or monthly stays, for the ski slopes the BEST FALL color one can ask for and summer excape from heat. Living in glorious Quiet or shopping in Quaint Blowing Rock or Banner Elk, or enjoy summer theater, 8 minutes away, do the Zip line, hike all day, walk the national and state parks, shop antiques from England. SOUTH CREST on BEECH is one of the few mountain neighborhoods with almost level walking to the village and outdoor concerts. We have a lot of the same guests who come back every year.

The temperature has never gone over 76 degrees, so there is no need for air conditioning. The average high for summer is 72. Each room has separate heat control. Facing south means you will have morning sun and shade for the evenings, with amazing sunsets since you will be able to see SO MUCH SKY. Sleep at night with windows open in temps going down to the 50s.

We get tons of compliments on the decorating of the the house and are constantly adding new things. Some sit on the covered deck for sunrise, cocktails, or reading, Only Grandfather Mt and trees are in view plus deer, ground hog, and birds being the typical wildlife.

Beech Mountain is considered one of the safest areas in NC, with police department walking distance and there are 3 competent hospitals within 40 minutes. More than 20 fine restaurants within 10 minutes of the house. Grocery and pharmacies within 3 to 20 minutes.

Our ski slopes are the best, Land Of Oz festival is one weekend in the summer, the Wooly Worm festival is in the fall, and the leaf and ski and decorated Winter holiday seasons are the best of all. Entrance to the famous Blue Ridge Parkway is only a few minutes away.

My family and I have been enjoying Beech for over 30 years, and finally chose South Crest on Beech to buy this home after years of comparing amenities, temperatures, and view. We love it there and use it as the get away we always wanted and needed as a respite from our busy lives. We refer it as recharging our batteries.

Go once and you will return!

About The Owner

Tom and I looked for years for the best location for a mountain house. We knew it had to be Beech Mt and then it was where. We wanted to be able to walk safely, so Elderberry Ridge Rd was the only near level road. We gutted and remodeled the condo we found and traveled to places in the west and south west US to find great design elements, Navajo rugs, wall handings etc. I painted most of the paintings in the house.

We live in Raleigh NC. I own McNamara Properties Real estate and Tom practices law. We have grown children and grandchildren and a cat named Boo.

The Owner purchased this condo in 2006
Why The Owner chose Beech Mountain

Tom and I went to Beech Mt for 30 years with our children. We looked all over the North Carolina Mountains many times and never could find anything better than Beech. It is never over 76 degrees and the community is so friendly and hanging out at Fred's is a huge part of every visit. Beech is like going back in time, with street dances, fairs and concerts on Sunday evenings at the gazebo. The ski resort is the best. We are two minutes from the parking for the ski bus and walking distance to everything. GO BEECH!

What makes this condo unique

Our street is the only level street to walk on so we walk down to the store/cafe to eat and walk back home. In less than 10 minutes, we can ski, hike, and eat. Less than 20 minutes we can shop, zip line, raft and more eating. Less than 40 minutes we can visit 4 small quaint towns that draw thousands of visitors each year. Blowing Rock Vallie Crucis, Banner Elk and Boone all have great shopping, parades, festivals, sports, fine food, nature trails, hunting, fishing, lakes, history, music, summer theater,national parks, you name it.

My husband and I enjoyed a quiet weekend away in this relaxing condo. The weather was fantastic, and the condo provided a beautiful view! The kitchen was well equipped for our cooking needs. The condo was well kept, pleasantly decorated, and our time there was simple. We joined the deer for exercise and fresh air on the Emerald Outback Trail which starts nearby at the town hall. Planning to return for another delightful stay.

All was just as we expected. The unit was easy to find, very clean and the view was spectacular. Traveling to Boone was easy and finding our way to Beech Mountain was too. The condo was neat as could be and so comfortable. The response from the owner to our questions was quick and very helpful. We will definately be back and look forward to staying in the same unit.

My mom and I had a great mother/daughter week at this condo. This was our first time staying on Beech Mountain and we couldn't have had a better time. The condo is very inviting and cozy, and we really enjoyed the decor. Most of paintings were done by the owner- she is very talented! We spent some time exploring Beech Mtn and also the Banner Elk area. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby and plenty of things to see. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this property.

Our stay at this Beech Mountain retreat was even more wonderful than we had hoped. The condo was cozy with its homey mountain decor yet quite spacious with plenty of storage. We had everything we needed and loads of room for four. The view was tremendous. We could have made a hundred wall worthy photos from the same spot at different times of the day. Wildlife was abundant. We saw a mother fox and her two kits across the parking area and behind a big rock. The peace and quiet was restful. Fred's nearby is a great place to pick up necessities or shop or eat a meal. The pizza spot was convenient. There are so many interesting places to visit even if you are not sports enthusiasts, we just could not get to them all in our stay. Our favorite restaurant is Casa Rustica in Boone owned by the Pedroni's. My sister used to claim to make the best lasagna until she had theirs. We also enjoyed shopping at the antique/junk shops out toward Crossnore. I sure hope we can get back soon.

Perfect spot to ski Beech!

My wife and I are avid skiers. We have been looking for a unit that is updated, cozy, and convenient to the slopes. This condo is the perfect fit for our needs. Located under 5 minutes by car is Ski Beech and more importantly the opportunity to rent everything you need at Fred's Mercantile Store as well.

The condo has updated appliances, WiFi, extremely comfortable furniture, and a first class view of the High Country. Also, there are 5 restaurants to eat within a 5 min drive from the condo on Beech Mtn. We appreciated the convenience of not having to drive very far for food in the snow!
