The Waveland Bungalow sits on a large lot tucked away on a quiet street, just 10 minutes walk to the serene white beaches of Waveland. The 100-year-old Live Oak tree provides privacy and shades the large wraparound porch. The house was built in 2010 and includes 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, full kitchen with breakfast bar, and a great room.

The house is raised to provide one covered parking spot, and covered entertaining space. It features hardwood floors in the living/sleeping areas and ceramic tile in the kitchen and baths. The Master Bedroom includes a Queen bed, large closet and adjoins the Master Bath. The Second Bedroom includes a Full bed and closet. The Third bedroom serves a dual function as the den, with pocket doors that open onto the Great Room to provide an even larger living/entertaining space when needed. This bedroom/den features a daybed, including a trundle, and provides 2 Twin beds (or push then together for a King).

The full kitchen features granite countertops, a breakfast bar and all the amenities of home. The Great room features a large bistro table to comfortably seat 6, and a leather sofa great for reading or just relaxing. The sofa converts to a full-sized bed.

Waveland is a quiet beach community. A 10 minute drive east along beautiful South Beach Blvd brings you to Old Town Bay St. Louis, a historic community known for its shops, restaurants and antiques. Just across the Bay Bridge, you'll find Pass Christian, which also offers shopping & dining options. A bit further along highway 90 brings you to Gulfport/Biloxi area, with a large water park, outlet shopping, and casinos. Just 5 minutes drive will bring you to the restaurants and shops of Hwy 90. If you're feeling lucky, you might take a trip to Hollywood Casino (15 minutes) and Silver Slipper Casino(10 minutes).

Whether you want to shop, gamble, dine or just enjoy a quiet beach getaway, the Mississippi Gulf Coast has much to offer!

About The Owner

The Waveland Bungalow is owned by a small group of friends (3 married couples) who formed a business partnership back in 1999 in New Orleans. After several years of buying and renovating historic rental property in New Orleans, we agreed that it was time for a convenient and affordable beach getaway, and Waveland was the best location for us. We have varied backgrounds and interest and our numbers include a teacher, a maintenance supervisor, a physician assistant, 2 oil& gas industry professionals and a restaurateur. We all enjoy traveling with our dogs & kids.

Why The Owner chose Waveland

We purchased this property in 2004 when we were seeking a quiet, convenient and affordable place to getaway for the weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our quiet beach bungalow until August 2005, when Katrina washed away most of Waveland. We were thrilled that our Oak tree survived the storm! Along with our business partners, we rebuilt our New Orleans homes and rental properties and have now completed our new beach getaway. Its slightly larger and takes advantage of a better layout and large porch. We look forward to many years of enjoyment and hope you will enjoy it too!

What makes this house unique

The property is secluded due to being an interior corner lot, with a large oak tree and a wall of bamboo lining the side and rear boundary with the neighboring property. Its kid and pet friendly, with quiet streets that are good for bike riding, dog-walking or exploring.

3 couples shared the house for a weekend and had a lovely time. We loved hanging out under the oak tree and chatting on the front porch swing. The house is clean, new, and well-stocked with anything you could need. Will definitely consider staying here again!

February excursion

Our month in Waveland was wonderful! The house was as described---new, very clean, very comfortable., gorgeous live oak tree. We visited New Orleans 2 times, and it is only an hour away, with easy access to the French Quarter. We were about 30-45 minutes from Biloxi, where we took a shrimping tour. We loved Bay St. Louis-----the Serious Bakery had bread and lemon poppy muffins which were incredibly delicious. The shops there were wonderfully different. The restaurant at the end of the street was very good. The Magnolia Brewery tour in Kiln was interesting. The beach is beautiful, even in February. It was a great place to walk the dog and me! The people were wonderful in southern Mississippi, adding to a very enjoyable month from Michigan's snow.

Beautiful place to stay

We loved staying here! It's very quiet and the property is lovely. I can't even begin to describe how gorgeous that old oak tree is. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and there were plenty of linens (towels, sheets, comforters, etc) for everyone. There were even a few games and paperback books available as well as coupons to some of the local restaurants.

The beach was a bit far to walk, but it's a very short drive and we were the only people around. Trapani's restaurant is a short drive away and has fabulous food and the Silver Slipper Casino is also quite close. We went to New Orleans to the French Quarter one afternoon, and it was only about a 40 minute drive. The Casinos in Biloxi were about 45 minutes in the other direction. All in all, we loved it and would definitely recommend it.
