"Casa Paradiso" Campo De' Fiori

January was a great time to visit Rome and staying at Casa Paradiso enhanced our visit. One can almost feel like one belongs when not lining up to visit sites or to eat mediocre food. The owners leave a guide to the neighborhood , which offers all the basics: a market in Campo di Fiori, gelato, pizza shops, good restaurants with tasty food and wine, bakeries and shoe stores. The apartment is big, bright and nicely decorated. Very comfortable for 4 people. We'd love to stay there again.

All the previous reviews are bang on. The location doesn't get any better than this. To be right next to the most picturesque square that has a fancy famers market during the day, then is all cleaned up spic and span for nighttime cafes......just so romantic. Rick Steve's guidebooks are in the apartment so be sure to do his evening walk to the Spanish Steps and stop for pizza and gelato along the way. Laura has an excellent guide/instruction book to make operating everything easy with picture step by steps. SO HANDY! And which bus to take to each of the sites. There is a grocery store in the neighbourhood and a fabulous deli on the square that has friendly guys working the meat/cheese counter to make suggestions and give you tastes. They even vaccumm packed for us to take all our favorites home. We were there just after Christmas and the apartment had a very cozy feel with well insulated windows that kept sound out and the heaters worked great. It isn't a bright apartment, which may be a good thing in the hot summer months. The satellite TV was great for our teens and the wifi worked well. We loved this apartment and highly recommend it.

Casa Paridiso is in an excellent location, a one minute walk to the Campo de Fiore and a five and ten minute walk to the Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. Although the apartment is very near the Campo, it is very quiet at night. Bus stops, tobacco shops for bus/metro tickets, ATMs, grocery stores, mailbox, bakeries, restaurants, gelato are all within a very short walk. I enjoyed a morning walk going in different directions each day and it is amazing in Rome how much there is to see. Every few minutes you pass a piazza or old church or interesting shops or sights. If you are in good shape, you can easily walk to the major sites within 20 minutes of the apartment, otherwise you can take a bus or taxi. The apartment feels larger than the photos suggest. The kitchen is well equipped, the dining table is large, and the sofa is large enough for two. There is even satellite TV. The wifi worked pretty good, but the signal strength varied within the apartment. We used the washing machine and there is a provided drying rack. We visited in May/June when the outside temperature was around 75 deg but it was nice to have the AC to keep the apartment cool. Beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were nice and functional with plenty of hot water and good pressure. If the trash is full you just leave it out in the street in the morning and it is picked up. Laura was very responsive to all of my emails, before the trip and while we were there. We had a 0615 flight and she was able to arrange a driver to take us to the airport, even at the early hour. We traveled with 2 kids age 10 and 12 and the location made it easy to return to the apartment to take breaks in the middle of the day. I definitely recommend Casa Paradiso as a place to stay in central Rome.
