John and Melanie Peters are the happy owners of the Renegade Golf Chalet along with Melanie's sister Suzanne Moore. We reside in Decatur, Al, but we love the time we spend at our chalet. We have just finished an extensive and exhausting renovation of the property and we look forward to sharing it with our rental guests.
The Owner purchased this chalet in 2009
We chose to buy on Renegade Mountain because of the secluded, but secure nature of the mountain location (elevation 2550 ft)in a gated community. The presence of the Renegade Golf Course at the top of our mountain and the close proximity to Fairfield Glade and many other golf courses and state parks also played an important factor in our choice of properties. Even though our Chalet is in Crab orchard, we are members of Fairfield Glade and our guests can enjoy all the benefits as Fairfield Glade guests, including special golf rates.
We enjoy the feeling of total isolation in our chalet, even though it is close to many golf courses, restaurants, shopping, and state parks. Day trips to Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg are also a great way to spend our leisure time. Our co-owner, Suzanne Moore, loves to visit all the wineries in the area to sample their wares. Since the roads are all curvy, nobody can tell how many samples she actually had.
Just had a FANTASTIC weekend with 6 friends at this lovely chalet. Everything was clean and welcoming. We truly enjoyed every aspect of the property....fire pit, hot tub, hiking, fire places, lovely bathrooms/showers, kitchen (fully stocked), deck....We even woke up to a snow covered scene our first morning! John was wonderful to work with and we all hope to visit again soon!!!
**One car of women got turned around driving up Friday night, so that was a little hairy considering cell service was in and out and signage is limited. The wonderfully specific directions we received mentioned a 2500ft elevation sign as a marker and we were only able to see a 2400ft elevation sign, so that may need to be updated. It was dark and raining, so that didn't necessarily help=)
We were very pleased with the house. It was clean, spacious, easy to find, secluded and even a tad luxurious! The showers escpecially were first rate!
The kitchen was furnished with everything we needed. We had 11 guys and there was plenty of room for everyone.
John communicated with us very effeciently and was thorough in describing the surroundings and attractions. We couldn't have asked for more.
We played the Jack Nicklaus course "Bear Trace". It was just about 15 or 20 minutes from the house. It was very perfect.
We will be back to this area next year and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.
It was a great place to have a special birthday party for my mom and being with other family that we don't often see. I know my mom really enjoyed this. Grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and went sight seeing. Fully equipped home. Look forward to another visit sometime.
We played the Fairfield Glades golf courses [within 20 minutes of the house] and stayed here for 4 nights. Had everything we needed and couldn't feel more at home. Clean, great house with plenty of room for all. The wooded setting is beautiful!
We had a great trip! the Chalet was perfect. We were able to play golf all 4 days on Tennesse's best courses, the owner was a huge help by getting us guests passes and we took full advantage of the Hot tub each day! The fire pit was awsome and it was nice to have a working gas grill that cooked like it should and wasn't rusted out inside. We will absolutly be staying here again next year for our golf trip!
We were very pleased with the home on renegade. It was tastefully decorated and very well equipped. We loved the fire pit and hot tub which has neat colored disco lights. We enjoyed ourselves and the rustic setting was very relaxing.
Renegade Golf Chalet is located in close driving distance of a number of fine wineries, most of which provide free samples to those knowledgeable of the culture of wines. If you sample very many new wines, you might need a designated driver to get you back up the curvy Renegade Mountain Parkway to the chalet.
