This cottage was perfect for us to share a Christmas gathering with our adult children who have moved west from Saskatchewan. Although we were miles away from home we were able to have our Christmas traditions in this cozy, comforting home. I would recommend this property to anyone. We loved it and it was everything we needed! Thank you Karin and Keith for your hospitality.
My husband and I currently live in Calgary but I was born and raised in Vancouver. I had longed for the ocean and so we decided to search for a sea side cottage to rent for a few days. We were so fortunate to find Dolphin Bay Cottage in quiet and lovely Nanoose Bay and it's wonderful owners Karin and Keith. From the moment we entered this quaint, cozy and serene cottage we were in love with not only it but the spectacular view of the ocean and the distant shores of the Mainland. The cottage is clean, warm and inviting and the seaside details charming, everything is provided for and easy to find. One of the best spots in the cottage is the super comfortable lounger placed right in front of the giant windows facing the ocean, one could happily sit there forever on a dark and stormy day by the fire watching the wildlife and the ocean waves right outside the wall of windows or if you visit in summer there are many, many wonderful, comfortable outdoor summer day sitting locations. You will not be sorry to choose Dolphin Bay Cottage, it is indeed bit of Paradise.

Very relaxing atmosphere. A home away from home feel to it
Our stay at the cottage in July was amazing. I'm not sure we've ever been to a more beautiful place than Vancouver Island. The pictures of the cottage on this site are an excellent representation of the cottage and surrounding area, although I'd have to say it was much more beautiful seeing it in person. We have 3 kids ages 17-23 and the house was perfect for us to have lots of time together in the cottage as well as privacy.
Overall we were extremely pleased with every aspect of the trip, from communications with Karin, to our stay at the cottage as well as day trips around the surrounding area. Very easy to rate this as 5 stars. Thank you, Karin!!
We had a great time. The house was a good size for six of us, very comfortable and well appointed. It is on a lovely little bay with a good beach. The view was stunning.
Thank you for a dream getaway. We truly forgot all about the stresses of our everyday lives drinking in the stunning view of the bay from the deck and virtually every room with a window.
The cottage was immaculate and very tastefully appointed. The kitchen was well-equipped. Everything was provided, from cookware to tableware to linens, even herbs and spices. We had most of our meals on site and made good use of the cooking facilities, including the barbecue on that wonderful deck. (Karin, my husband has BBQ envy!)
We couldn't get enough of that view from the deck and living room. Thanks for providing the telescope. In addition to the gorgeous water view, we saw eagles, deer, even otters frolicking on the beach. Our stay concided with the beginning of the cruise season and we spotted two cruise ships ablaze with lights on their way to Alaska.
Speaking of views, the master suite is absolutely magnificent, with its wall of floor-to-ceiling windows and soaker tub overlooking the bay. Sleep comes easily in the very comfortable bed, lulled by the soothing sound of waves.
While we were there to relax, we certainly appreciated the wifi and cable TV access - just to keep in touch with the rest of the world and smugly thank the gods (and Karin!) that we were away from it all.
Our break was much too short and we'll be back for a longer stay. It was such a pleasure dealing with the owner, Karin, and she ensured that everything was perfect.
