Great condo with a great location.

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this condo with all the offered amenities. It’s housed in Traverse Commons, a destination in itself with much history. It’s a short drive to downtown and the beaches, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown.

The pictures online do not do it justice. I’m assuming the owners have a background in art. You could see, what I believe to be their work, throughout the unit. Personal touches everywhere. We had two adults, and a 20 and 17 y/o staying in this unit. There was more than enough room for the four of us. Granted the 20 and 18 y/o took their own blowup beds, but there was enough room on the first floor to accommodate the beds. The second floor had a desk and area for reading and the third floor was utilized as the master bedroom along with master bath.

The condo has a nice kitchen, an additional ½ bath on the first floor with a huge outdoor balcony. What more do you need?

The owners emailed suggested restaurants, shops, etc. prior to our stay. We wisely went along with their suggestions. Trattoria Stella is housed in the Commons. We highly suggest a meal there. It was simply amazing. A bit pricey, so you may want to go for lunch. There are several restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, etc. on the grounds. I don’t believe you could go wrong with any of them.

Would definitely recommend a stay there.

Honeymoon heaven

  • 5 of 5

After looking through VRBO, I discovered this gem. We decided to stay for our honeymoon because of its uniqueness. We were delighted when we drove up and cast our eyes upon the beautiful buildings and surroundings. We decided to take the guided tour and we were happy we did. We did not spend a great deal of time on the property but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves when we did do some exploring. We did eat at one of the fabulous restaurants, shopped at the boutiques, enjoyed the coffee shops, and I even took in a yoga class. We spent a majority of our time driving in our convertible all over the northern portion of Michigan's lower peninsula. What a spectacular time that was and the scenery was breathtaking We highly suggest that. We decided for our honeymoon to "unplug" and did not even need use of the TV. We did make use of the coffee pot a couple of times. My only wish was for a full length mirror somewhere in the condo. On the inside of the closet door upstairs outside the bathroom would have been an ideal place. The property is fabulous and the condo is quaint. We are planning a future trip and hope to stay again.

Cool loft in awesome location

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a very nice time staying in this condo at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons. As some of the other reviewers have said, it is a smaller unit than some of the others in the building; however, it is a very well-thought-out space. The loft which houses the bedroom and master bath takes full advantage of its position at the top of this beautiful building with very large skylights that make that loft a wonderful place to be. The living area is very nice with good seating, and the kitchen is well equipped, too. As with all the condos in this building, the workmanship that restored the space is excellent, as are all the materials used in finishing the space. The decor is interesting, too. Perhaps our favorite feature of this condo was its direct access to the spacious public porch which provides a lovely west facing view of the buildings and grounds. It was a great place to eat breakfast and enjoy our coffee. The Village is a fantastic place to stay with restaurants, shops, an art gallery, tasting rooms, bakeries, and much more.

Owner's Response: Im so glad you were able to really see what the Village and the space has to offer! Especially the great light that pours in from the skylights and dormers, and the balcony with so much fresh air and sun! You are welcome again anytime. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Great vacation space for a couple

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I rented this space the week of the 4th of July and had a great time. We recommend exploring everything around the Village Commons as you will find awesome bread at the Pleasanton Bakery (get the olive parmesan bread, trust us), top notch free trade coffee at Higher Grounds, and many other great shops and stores. With only a few minute drive to downtown, it was a great property to be a part of the action but not thrust in the commotion of Front Street. And my girlfriend loved the sidewalks and trails to run on in the mornings.

We hope to come here again and again. Thanks for the memorable weekend.

Owner's Response: Im so glad you were able to experience the unique-ness of the Village- its a pretty awesome community- and so close to downtown, yet so quiet and ticked away. My favorite is the woods trails too:) You are welcome to come stay again anytime- I really appreciate how well you treated the place and how clean you left it- thank you!

Great place to stay in a great area!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were in Traverse City for a wedding and decided to make a vacation of it. I was looking for a place that was a kind of home base for everything and this fit the bill nicely. This loft met our needs perfectly - enough space for 2, clean, comfortable, relaxing and quiet. All of the pictures and descriptions are accurate. Yes, there is no TV but honestly you don't need one.

The Commons is a very unique area and there is a lot to do and see within walking distance. We went to several restaurants and shops and did some hiking - all practically right outside our door. We walked to downtown Traverse City (about 20 minutes) and would have rented a bike and tried out the numerous trails if we had had time.

This was our first time using VRBO and I hope every experience is as good as this one was. Chelsea was very responsive to my questions and we are considering visiting the area again to see some of the things we missed out on the first time around. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Lovely Loft in Fabulous Setting

  • 5 of 5

Lovely Loft in a historic building makes for a wonderful stay. Enjoyed the shopping and dining available in the building as well as the balcony of the loft apartment. Nearby hiking trails were a huge plus as was the proximity to the beaches and historic Traverse City downtown area. Convenient location for day trips. Owners very easy to work with to coordinate your stay. Whether used for a weekend retreat or a longer stay, 304850 is a great choice for 2-4 people.
