Amenities: A typical day for a family of 6 or 2-3 couples might include: early morning game of golf or tennis or a swim in Lake Charlevoix— all within 2 blocks. Later, take a walk (about 6 blocks) to the drawbridge and downtown Charlevoix. Take time to enjoy the view of the Round Lake Marina as you check out the waterfront shops, galleries and restaurants.
Time for lunch . . .possibly overlooking the channel. Watch large and small ships navigate through as the drawbridge is raised.
After lunch walk along the channel to the sandy beach of Lake Michigan. Take in the pier and lighthouse or swim and relax on the beach.
Return home after a stop at the fisheries for fresh whitefish, perch or trout.Time for swimming or boating on Lake Charlevoix just a few blocks away. Each patio is set up for you with BBQ grill, table, chairs etc. Plenty of time left for reading, games or just relaxing.
Activities: Throughout the summer in Charlevoix there are many celebrations such as the Art Fair in the Park along with the week of Venetian Festival. There are boats for rent as well as ferry service to Beaver Island.
Bay Harbor is 15 miles further north. A nationally known resort area with many things to see and do. Check out the brick road of galleries, shops and restaurants plus model homes and condos. Fascinating day trips might include Petoskey, Harbor Springs, the Mackinac Bridge and islands.
