• On Water: Long Lake is one of the area's finest lakes. It's 9 miles of crystal clear, deep, spring fed water, making for great swimming, water skiing, canoeing, sailing & fishing. Moor your boat or rent our 24' pontoon or sea kayaks for the week. It's 6' deep at the end of our dock & swimming is excellent thanks to the hard sand & gradually sloping lake bottom. There is no hard sand beach, but there's an 8x12 sun deck.
•On Land: Biking & horseback riding on the Heartland Trail are just a few miles away. Golf courses & The Headwaters in Itasca State Park are just a short drive. Head to town & in ten minutes hit Main, where you can park your car in the middle of the street & find gift stores, coffee shops, dining, movies & more.

While looking at your website calendar, I noticed a bad review. He, or she, noted the dusty cob webbed cabin. Our experience over the years of renting your cabin every June is that it's always been very clean. We have felt very comfortable during our stays. As far as cob webs go, you can clean them out and less than an hour later, those busy spiders have rebuilt their projects.
As far as the pontoon goes, we never used it, except to sit in it under the canopy to eat a shore lunch, while down at the beach. I brought our own boat for fishing and boat rides. However, I did start your pontoon on occasion to make sure it was running and it always started right up.
Whoever these people are, seem to be the type that aren't happy unless they can find something to complain about. All of their complaints, we found not to be true.
All our best, DCG
In 1999, Bachelor Todd bought this very rustic cabin. It was close to his family & hometown of Detroit Lakes. With a lot of help from friends, he gutted and rebuilt the entire thing, including adding on all the decks and the three season porch. He even built the dock, (which Jen made him replace in 2012 with something 'more modern.') Todd married Jen in 2008 and in typical lady-wife fashion, she immediately took over making additions of her own, starting with imperatives like kitchen knives that cut & sheets with threadcounts over 7. In 2011, Jen took over the rental portion of the cabin business, but Todd is still is still around to fix stuff.
The couple currently resides in Minneapolis, where Todd is a family physician & Jen is a hematology oncology consultant & part-time grad student at St. Thomas. The couple spends as little time inside as possible when not working & can be found cycling, running, skiing, swimming, hunting, grilling and camping in their 1973 VW Bus.
The Jorgensons hope you love the cabin as much as they do!
It has everything you need for a family vacation or a romantic get away. Close enough to town to run for groceries, yet remote enough to feel like a true get-away.
Park Rapids is about a 12 minute drive.
Itasca State Park, home of the Headwaters of the Mississippi River, is just 20 minutes away.
The Heartland Trail, which goes from Park Rapids to Walker & is great for biking, walking & inline skating starts right in town.
