Guestbook comments from the owner
We love staying in your cabin! It is beautifully maintained and cleaned and perfectly stocked with anything we could need for a summer vacation on the lake. The kitchen/dining area is a delight to cook in and easy to keep clean. The bathroom is a definite plus as far as lake cabins go and we really appreciate its size and amenities. We had fun using the deck and yard last summer for outdoor dining. We look forward to staying there with our family again this summer.

Thanks again and we will see you this summer, if it ever stops snowing...

Excellent Escape in Northern Michigan

  • 5 of 5
We had a great time at the cottage. The cottage was well maintained and clean upon our arrival. The owner met us there to show us around and make sure we knew how everything worked. We appreciated the updated kitchen and bathroom and found the kitchen suitable stocked the few times we decided to cook. The large patio area was great. It was also really nice to have internet and cable on the one day it just wouldn’t stop raining.

The cottage itself is just off a main road tucked away with 4-5 others cabins/houses. All the properties are very close together but we never experienced any issues and all the neighbors were very friendly. The cabin doesn’t have an amazing lake view but it is still very picturesque and there is lake access (including a dock) for fishing and boating. There is also a beach about a five minute drive down the road.

Our favorite part of the cabin was that it was central to everywhere we wanted to go. During our stay we managed to visit Traverse City, Charlevoix, Petoskey, Torch Lake, Lake Michigan, and Mackinaw Island along with stops in the smaller towns in the area. If you’re looking for a “home base” that allows you to explore Northern Michigan this would be a great pick. We really enjoyed our time here and hope to come back in the future.

AWESOME!!! GREAT PLACE!!!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I found this cute place and thought we would try it our for 4 nights. It is absolutely perfect. We both (and our daughter) wished we would have booked it for longer. Pat and Mike met us there when we arrived and showed us around. Their place is "spotless". One of the cleanest, neatest places we have rented. Perfect spot out front to grill, chill and have a cocktail. It is right on the lake and the early morning kayaking was beautiful. Tons of turtles, fish, ducks. We even saw a loon family one morning. We had brought our pontoon boat and traveled the rivers both ways through many cool lakes. There are a few other cottages nearby on the lake and the people there are super nice. Helped us out with maps , ideas, and stuff. Great people. The owners of the cottage are super helpful too. We had an issue with our boat and they are letting us keep it there til August when we can come back and get it. :) If you are looking for a nice ,super clean, welcoming, fun, peaceful get away this summer...You just found it. We will so be going back next year:)))

Comfy cottage filled with everything we needed.

  • 5 of 5
Our long weekend at the cottage was comfy and relaxing. Everything about the cottage was in great shape. My mom uses a walker to get around and found it easy to navigate the open floor plan. We had to bake something for an event and found all of the tools and pans we needed in the kitchen. The view is up-north green and beautiful. The owners were very responsive to our questions and calls to make sure everything was just as we hoped.

This is close to many favorite spots to visit: Torch Lake, Barnes Park in Eastport on Lk. Michigan, Lulu's Restaurant in Bellaire. We went also drove up to Petosky for some fun. Enjoyed lunch at The Roast and Toast and did some early Christmas shopping at Grandpa Shorters and many others.

We'll definitely be back!

Cute cottage

  • 4 of 5
The cottage was very nice, clean, and seemed newly redone on the inside. The space was nice for two families to share expenses. The only complaint I would have was that there was a big camper parked in front of the cottage at a neighbors house, blocking our view of the lake. However that is no fault of the owners. Overall we had a great experience.

Relaxing "Up North"

Relaxing "Up North"

Great spot to relax! We enjoyed the fact that the cottage was well maintained, clean and modern. Though it doesn't have a full direct view of Lake Benway, there's still enough site-line to catch a sunset or see the mist on the lake in the early AM. The scenery on the lake and in the channels is very nice if you have a canoe or boat. The lake itself was not busy at all and usually isn't because the public boat launch is not directly on the lake - it's just a short jaunt across the lake/channel. Fishing was "off" due to changing weather but we still caught Bluegills, Pearch, a 26" Northern Pike, 22" Walleye and 3 lb Small Mouth Bass. Off-shore swimming opportunity was disappointing due to weeds and raft was not out. Owners are friendly, accomodating and accesible, if needed. Neighbors by the cabin are also very friendly. This a great spot for a couples get-away or even small family.

Owner's Response: Thanks Nate! We are glad to hear that you and your family had a good time. Thank you also for the tips/ideas you sent us! We are sorry that the neighbors raft was not out this year. They had a hectic summer and no time to use it.

It was a pleasure having you and your family at our home and we hope to see you again sometime.
