Great Cottage

Jennielm Watertown, MA
Review Submitted: June 26, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
We stayed here for the first time just a few weeks ago. We loved it. The cottage is clean and very well-equipped. There are a ton of windows so you can see the lake at all times. It's about a 20 to 30 minute drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor. We spent most of our mornings there and then relaxed back at the cottage in the afternoons. There are also a lot of shops and restaurants in Ellsworth, which is nice if you don't want to venture far. We didn't get wifi at the cottage, but went to the public library down the street and used theirs.

Owner's Response: We're so glad you enjoyed our cottage. We will work on getting that wifi up and running. I'm glad you found our local library, it's a gem.

Great vacation cottage

mikey-liked-it Southern Illinois
Review Submitted: November 3, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
My wife and I enjoyed the tail end of the foliage season and Emily's cottage on Graham lake was a great central point. It had all of the eminities of home. Nothing to want for. The direct TV was a challenge at first. We enjoyed meals in Ellsworth at Martha's and the Riverside cafe, each were special in their own way. We traveled to Lubec and Campabella Island (great day trip). To some covered bridges northwest of Bangor. Enjoyed Deer island, Belfast went up the Penobscot Observation in the bridge. Acadia was great. the view from Cadillac Mtn. was spectacular. If we ever go back to maine, we'll stay here.

Lakefront Cottage in Ellsworth Falls, Maine

Chris Yaz Hamden, CT USA
Review Submitted: October 6, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Our stay was perfect! The cottage was secluded enough that we could be alone on our honeymoon, but also close enough to everything when we wanted to venture out and explore - Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, etc.
Emily keeps this cottage in pristine condition! They have kayaks/canoes and plenty of indoor activities as well...board games, binoculars for bird watching, etc.
We will definitely vacation here again.

Frequent Satisfied Renter

Review Submitted: December 30, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
We have rented this cottage three times as of 2008 and we would return. The house is small, but exceptionally well designed so that you are seldom without a breathtaking view. The lake is quiet (no motor boats). It's not a favorite for swimming due to the mucky bottom, but it's wonderful for kayaking, canoeing, and birdwatching. Sunsets are spectacular.

Accommodations are simple and cozy. We manage to fit (two adults, three kids under 12), but if you're used to a lot of space, this might not be the best property for you. We don't usually spend much time during the day in the house, as there are so many wonderful things to do in the area.

Emily does a fabulous job maintaining the cottage and has thought of everything. We're glad to hear she's working on Internet access, as this feature would really enhance the property. It is a tremendously peaceful spot. You cannot beat the price for this waterfront property. The kids enjoy it as well (especially the hammock!).

Great first trip to Maine!

Swimmer's groupie Weems Virginia
Review Submitted: October 1, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
My husband and I rented this cabin, via the Internet, for a first-time visit to Maine. We wanted to be fairly near Belfast and Acadia AND near a Y with an indoor pool (my husband swims on their Masters team and wanted to be able to practice). The ad for this cabin stating that it had 2 kayaks sealed the deal for me!
The cabin had everything we needed, and more. Well furnished, very clean, a lot of thoughtful touches, loads of books, puzzles, etc. (I found myself almost hoping for a rainy day so I could do a puzzle!) Very completely equipped kitchen, loads of nice towels, sheets, etc. It was only about 45 minutes from Bar Harbor, an hour from Belfast, andCastine/Stonington/Deer Isle were nearby. There was a good grocery store in town (Hannafords), as well as a Reny's (a Maine store we'd never heard of). We like to eat breakfast out-the Riverside Cafe, Martha's Diner and Sylvias were all good.
The lake was lovely (although it was pretty windy during our stay, so kayaking was not what I'd hoped for). The cabin was very private, while at the same time very convenient to town.
We visited the library in town several times for wireless access, which was fast and free.
Would I go back? Definitely!!
