DOWNTOWN BEND RIVERFRONT COTTAGE

Bend Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

This is my 4rd year in this wonderful business and I want to thank all of our great guests for their gratifying response. I believed people would love our enchanted cottage on the river, and I was right. Everyone who has stayed here has fallen in love with it. I knew they would, because my husband and I live two doors south and it is so awesome.

We're perfectly placed on the Deschutes River between the Old Mill section and downtown. Many guests never drive their car the entire time they are here. Everything is within walking distance from the cottage, including tremendous brew pubs, restaurants and shops.

We set out to make our pet-friendly cottage a 5 star vacation destination home and that is how everyone has rated us. You must read our reviews! From the very beginning, our plan was to do everything we could to make your vacation perfect. We provide a lush and welcoming cottage complete with the finest quality furnishings and amenities.

You'll discover a beautifully-appointed kitchen with abundant spices and most of the basics you'd need for cooking. The living room has an enormous HD TV with Blu-Ray; the charming bedrooms are attractive and unique. The baths offer your choice of a roomy shower or an antique ball and claw foot tub for a deep soak. There is a full laundry room.

We provide welcome wine, a s'more kit for the fire pit by the river; coffee beans and a grinder (with regular coffee maker and a French press) and so much more.

We have completely decorated our riverfront cottage thinking of your every need. The photos will knock you out! There is all-new flooring and carpeting, as well as all-new furnishings and linens to give it that great resort, clean feel. In 2012, we added new

kitchen appliances.

The French doors from the kitchen open onto a large deck and expansive yard directly on the Deschutes River where you can swim, fish or experience any river sports you wish! (There is double fencing for your children's security from the river and a fenced yard for your pet.)

There is a very cool outside bar, plus all kinds of dining sets with umbrellas, comfy Adirondack chairs and a large, all-season gazebo with a full set of rattan furnishings in it.

Our Four Seasons: Each season has gems waiting to be discovered. In the winter, Mt. Bachelor is a mecca for skiers and boarders; plus, there are many areas to cross-country ski. Making snowmen with the little kids is such fun.

In the spring, you have baby ducks, geese, osprey, eagles and blossoms everywhere. As the greens explode in the trees and everything is in bloom, many of those snow sport fans shift over to golfing, bicycling, running and hiking.

What can't you do here in summer? Our summer sports equipment includes stand-up paddleboards, kayaks and floaties (all are provided at no extra charge).

Fall brings us the fabulous colors, and things start to quiet down to an easier pace. Relaxing by the river remains a favored pastime, as well as most of the summer sports.

We welcome friendly dogs, and they give us solid paws up ratings, too. Dogs love the big riverfront backyard and they can swim right here!

It's easy for them to get in and out of the river when the double fences are open, and best of all for you, we don't charge extra for dogs.

Last summer, our cottage was rented every single day. The only thing I hate is when we are vacant, because that means someone is missing the

vacation of a lifetime. So I will deal for last minute bookings. But if you are really smart, you will book TODAY and receive your desired time. Look at my calendar; you will notice we book well in advance. So book early if I have convinced you this will be one of

the best vacations you have ever had.

It really will be.

Ray and Jackie Haworth are retired and loving life living on the river in Bend. Ray is a retired LA City Fireman and Jackie ('Jo Jo') is a retired antique store owner who enjoys being a grandmother.

We enjoy all the beauty of Bend's outdoors : Snow Skiing, Tennis, Kayaking and more. We love seeing the eagles fish on the river, and walking to our favorite restaurant for dinner and a movie. We walk everywhere we need to go!

We look forward to meeting you and making your vacation perfect!

The Owner purchased this cottage in 1998

We live on the River two houses away and we love living on the river so much we want to share the experience with others. Bend is a fabulous find. We love floating on the river, swimming, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding.

And of course in the winter, there is skiing, snow-shoeing, cross country skiing, and eating in all the fabulous pubs and diners we have in Bend, within walking distance of our home and rental cottage. Come join us you'll love it. Read our reviews; you'll see yourself writing one of these after your stay with us!

We go to the cottage to watch sporting events on the 55 inch T.V. or watch Blue Ray HD DVDs. Of course, if we didn't live here we would come for the River Kayaking, Floating, Concerts, First Friday Art Walks, Skiing, Les Schwab Amphitheater Events, Hiking and Biking.

There are so many reasons we left Laguna Beach for Bend, especially the four seasons. Everyone agrees it's a fantastic place to stay, and it would be even without all of the extras we provide such as the stand-up paddleboards, kayaks and swimming right outside your door!

Super location and sweet home

I forgot to do my review after staying here in October - so much going on. We wound up buying a home in Bend on this vacation, maybe staying in such a pleasant, well located vacation home had something to do with it! We loved staying in this little riverside cottage and would return in a heartbeat. It was very comfy and although the river was low and it was chilly so we didn't make much use of the backyard and river, we did love staying here. Just a short walk to the best restaurant in Bend (Jackson's Corner) which we tapped at some point for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Enjoyed meeting the owners Jackie and Ray - so friendly and accommodating. (I'll call you for coffee after we move!) Don't hesitate to book this home if you are staying in Bend.

Owner's Response: Our hearts would be broken, if they didn't return every year. They used to be neighbors and now we only get to see them when they stay in our enchanted cottage.

Best home away from home!

This was the second weekend my husband and I (from the Midwest) spent at this fabulous cottage, and once again, we came with our daughter and son-in-law, from Oregon. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Bend. In fact, Jackie and Ray have spoiled us for renting any other VRBO anywhere! Their place is immaculate! And they've thought of everything that would make guests feel welcome--from the oh-so-comfortable beds to the well-appointed kitchen (with bottles of welcome wine) where four adults can easily create a fabulous feast. My daughter's dog enjoyed himself as much as his human companions, and no detail is overlooked as far as canine guests go: Our hosts even provide water and food bowls!

The cottage is exactly as pictured: charmingly set on the river, where a huge amount of water fowl and river otters--even a bald eagle--congregate. And it's conveniently located to the Old Mill District and the downtown area, where great restaurants offer tasty food if you want to tear yourself away from the cottage for dinner.

Our only regret: that we couldn't stay longer. But memories of Jackie and Ray's wonderful hospitality and Bend's soothing sun will keep us warm for what's left of our frigid winter. THANK YOU, Jackie and Ray! You are hosts extraordinaire!

Best Girls' Weekend Ever!

Best Girls' Weekend Ever!

I consider myself lucky that I found this sweet cottage and that it was available the dates we needed. A few friends and I stayed here over the weekend and it could not have been more perfect. We took advantage of most all the amenities. The kitchen is completely stocked with everything we needed to make meals, we used the fire pit and had s'mores (makings were provided), and we didn't have to leave the property to enjoy the beautiful river view. One of the girl's dog sitter fell through right before our trip so we had to bring the dog along. She had a great time running around the large fenced yard. We decided next time we come we'll try and use the kayaks and bikes.

Also, Jackie and Ray were so sweet and came by to say hello while we were there. It is clear that they put a lot of time and love into making this cottage as homey and comfortable as possible for visitors. That was felt by all.

Overall excellent place to stay. We're coming back as soon as possible.

Owner's Response: The girls invited us over to pick up their check, they were so young and cute, having a girls vacation. They had all done their nails the night before and hung out in our white terry cloth robes, and were getting ready, Saturday night, to go out on the town. We told them about the local pub they could go to by just walking over the bridge, that way no problem about drinking and driving, that is one of the best things about the cottage walking distance to everything Bend has to offer. We love meeting our guest, these gals were adorable. I can't wait until they come again.

Early October Along the River in Bend

I wish I could give 10 stars to this property and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone visiting Bend. It was exactly as described on VRBO and was a cozy/comfortable home away from home. It's right on the river and has just about anything you'd want for water activities. Unfortunately, we were there when the temperatures were unusually cool so we were definitely not in the water!!!! So, for people like us, the owners have stocked the house with games, DVD's, books and there is a HUGE 55 inch TV to watch on a cold night. The kitchen has every pot, pan, utensil, glass, plate that you will need as well as spices and condiments. Just head to the grocery store and you're set! A bottle of wine welcomes you in the refrigerator as well as everything you'll need to make smores; although we didn't because we were "softies" and liked spending the evening in the warm house!!!!! There are plenty of towels and even bathrobes waiting for you in the bedroom closets. We did have two fairly warm days and enjoyed sitting in the gazebo watching the ducks swim by and enjoying the sun. Another great thing about the owners is that they welcome dogs and my two had a great time sunning on the deck and chasing each other in the back yard. Bend is a great place to spend time. We really liked Sisters which is about 20 miles outside of Bend. Don't miss a chance to hike or drive to the top of Pilot Butte which gives the visitor a 360 degree view of the area around Bend including views of snow capped mountains like Mount Bachelor and the Three Sisters. Another "must see" is the High Desert Museum (about 6 miles from our cottage). Not only does it have a variety of animals that can't be returned to the wild, but it also has a settler's cabin and saw mill (cir. 1904). Some days (not the day I was there) the frontier family is there to answer questions. Finally, I can't say enough about our hosts. Other reviewers talk about how welcoming they are, and that is so true, but they are also terrific people. On the Friday of our visit, my friend thought she was coming down with the flu. By evening she was in a lot of pain so she called our hosts to see what medical facilities were nearby. Well, they took time out of their busy evening to go with her to the nearest place and offered to pick her up if she needed them to. Thankfully she got the medication she needed so her trip wasn't ruined and the helpfulness and concern of the owners was MUCH appreciated. Thanks for a great place to stay.

float or kayak right from the back yard. Kayaks and Stand Up Paddle Boards included. Walk to Les Schwab Amphitheater, downtown Bend or Old Mill. We now also have Stand-up Paddle Boards the favorite with our guest. Don't miss out 2 weeks left this summer. Fall is great on the River also, the water is still warm. Try us for Thanksgiving, you could dine in the Gazebo on the River. For you that want to do the Ale Trail, the breweries/restaurants are within walking distance, what a great way to spend a fall day.
